I've never loved him.

I used to not get him at all. Been hearing some old radio bits with him and enjoying them, though.

Incidentally, I was listening to an Opie and Anthony with him from like 2009 or something and they were ripping Mike North pretty good. Including calling him fat which made me chuckle.

Ann Horner, 62, was the first protester to show up. “Keep it in your pants,” her sign said. Horner said she has experienced both harassment and sexual assault in her life, and that she was here because of C.K.’s harassment of women. “It’s not OK with me,” she said.

A young man named Shane, who passed by on his way inside, asked Horner what C.K.’s harassment had to do with his standup.

“Do you think it’s funny when people jerk off in front of women?” she asked him.

“No, I think his standup is funny,” he said. “Who do you think is funny?” he asked her.

“Hannah Gadsby” she said. “Do you know who that is?”

“Yes, she’s the one with the least funny special on Netflix,” he said.

Onstage, C.K. wasted no time in addressing the complicity of the audience—“You’ve read the worst possible things you could read about a person, about me, and you’re here”—before pivoting to mansplaining comedy.

“The whole point of comedy is to say things that you shouldn’t say. That’s the entire point,” he said.

How is that "mansplaining?"

He was great up until he got really famous. His FX show went from must see television to a show that was hard to get motivated to even watch.

I do think it is great that has has pretty much decided to stop caring about the controversy around him. What he did wasn't a good thing to do but it shouldn't end his career either.

He was doing this at his local Curves.

Yeah, I really like Louis' humor, but his delivery and timing are average, IMO. Then again, Bill Burr has ruined everything for me, I like him so much. Burr on Conan is like constant laughing because they play off each other so well. Conan knows when to sit back and just let him roll.

Sweet Jeebus, life has to be an absolute chore to live with this thinking. How do you raise somebody with this thinking and how does she become a sociologist?

For you stand-up fans: By the time I started watching George Carlin (around 1990?), he wasn't the great comedian I had heard about. In fact, he didn't even say funny stuff. No punchlines, etc. It was just him preaching about politics.

Is this an accurate observation or I am way off base?

100% agree. I've always said that. I never really watched George Carlin and laughed during my lifetime. It was all social commentary.

That's crazy. I've laughed a shitload at his post 1990 stuff. Obviously it was a lot of social commentary but I thoroughly disagree that he was up there preaching and not trying to make people laugh.

Got a show in mind we might watch? I'm open to persuasion on this one. But, like leash said, I never really laughed.

I can see that.

I do dislike when a comedian speaks for comedy. Only Patrice O'Neal could pull that off.

I agree with this too. Now, he's basically the person in memes when you have an agenda so you take something he said.

He was great in the Bill and Ted movies though.

his standup is really good. his shows weren't that great. obviously i don't think you should do some of the things he has done but i also don't have a problem with him using those things in his act. and i don't have a problem with him just telling everyone critical of him to go screw themselves.

however my guess is he'll eventually cave and get all limp wristed.

If Mahomes has two more seasons like this one and then died he would be Bill Hicks.

Nathan Peterman is Hannah Gadsby?

Or I guess that would only work if a bunch of people went insane and thought Peterman was great.
