Now that I think about it, globally speaking, the only real true answer is Jesus.

Old Yeller - book version. I remember locking myself in the bathroom because I didn't want my parents to know I was crying.

I get a little choked up just thinking about it. They did an outstanding job wordlessly chronicling Ellie and Carl's relationship.

Bambi’s mom.

I was a toddler.

The first movie death where I was like, “Wow, that’s violent,” had to be Joe Pesci and his brother getting killed in Casino. I was in 8th grade I think.

Hank and Fring's original meth cook. Forgot his name.

I assume I don't need to elaborate much on Hank. He was a beloved character. Writers got lazy at the end by making him unreasonably clever at the very end but whatever.

The cook's death affected me. I actually got upset at the show for showing something so wrong. Dude was innocent as hell and a good guy. And I also felt bad for Jesse. I guess it was just good writing.

Gale boetticher? I might have misspelled the last name. In fact I'm confident I did.

Yup. That was him. Disturbing death.

FF caught his mistake before I could slay him. Again.

Your first sentence sounds dumb. Probably should have read the rest before immediately responding though.

I have no issues with Gale biting it. His death only affected me because of who had to pull the trigger.

Gale’s death was supposed to be jarring.

It is great writing because it isn’t your typical predictable plot line.

Jarring implies at least somewhat surprising to me. Everyone knew when Gale opened that door he was toast.

I didn’t believe it was gonna happen until it did.

It was pretty jarring to me.

Yeah but you also think people on message boards can turn your computer off remotely. Not sure you're a great arbiter of believability my friend.

I don't think the question is about the degree to which you were surprised or not. It's how it affected you emotionally. And before you call me a snowflake just remember I didn't start the thread. :D

You can't play that game. In a fictional world you buy into the characters because that's why you watch the show. You can't say you had no problem with Gale dying because he's fictional. Otherwise why watch fiction at all if it doesn't matter.

Some good answers earlier. Even though I knew both characters were being written out, Henry Blake and James Evans are up there.

But I will go with Edith Bunker. The only episode of All In The Family that never gets shown in syndication.
