Back then Tinley Park wasn't known for the great police or mayor.

It has been a long time since I lived there but the mayor Ed Zabrocki was pretty famous in a Chicago way. Gladhander, go to picnics and block parties and always help his friends. Was mayor or king forever. Anyway, I always heard the cops were more his buddies and so forth than top of the line detectives and such.

Ah, yea, that is probably way more common than we even think.

Yeah I knew he was there also. I am not saying he was a bad guy. TP was just growing faster (as was their bordering burbs) than their way of life.

I’m guessing at some point this entire case was turned over to the FBI so it matters fuck all if it was a police force of Barney Fife’s in Tinley.

He might have been a bad guy, I don't know.

I only met with him once or twice and didn't know much about him. If The Simpsons had been on at that time I would have assumed he was not unlike Mayor Quimby.

No, you live on the internet. That much is clear. You're not alone, many people do in this generation.

and the "no im just a realist" is just more evidence.

Anyway, to each their own.

when compared to his neighbors and as far as a south cook county Mayors.... Ed Zabrocki would be on the mt. rushmore of good mayors.

look at his competition:

https://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/ ... story.html

Quote:
Orland Park police identified the suspected gunman they say shot and killed an 18-year-old Richton Park man inside Orland Square Mall in Orland Park.

Police said that there is a manhunt underway for 19-year-old Jakharr Williams of University Park, who they said “should be considered armed and dangerous” and that he has an active parole warrant.

Wonder what he was on parole for? I hope it wasn't something serious like that other guy getting 2 years for being a felon in possession of body armor and weapons with serial numbers filed off. That wouldn't look good for the "parole just serves to keep people in jail" crowd.

It says something about our society that so many here assume you are a cop just because you are a staunch supporter of law enforcement.

The suspect has a lawyer who is speaking to the media. Looks like he's out of Hickory Hills. Surprising not a court appointed public defender. Pro bono?

You gotta admit these two have (or had) a penchant for coming up with interesting names.

Me? I have no creativity whatsoever. The best that I could do was “whiskey dick”.
