Some good answers earlier. Even though I knew both characters were being written out, Henry Blake and James Evans are up there.

But I will go with Edith Bunker. The only episode of All In The Family that never gets shown in syndication.

Edith didn't die on an episode of the show.
She dies between seasons.
There is no episode to not get shown in syndication.

I meant the first episode the next season where Archie is grieving.

But technically that is part of the renamed show, Archie Bunker's Place. They renamed the show in Ediths last season when she was only in a limited number of episodes.

She died in the 2nd season of Archie Bunker's Place....which was a spin-off, not just a rename. You don't see the referenced episode because you don't see Archie Bunker's Place in syndication.

This is correct.

Edith was in the first season of Archie Bunker's Place, but left the show after that. They killed off her character after the first season.

I received the original series for Christmas last year. Apart from their lack of accumulated possessions and the particulars of what they argue over, it's remarkably timely.

The one where Edith nearly gets raped was very jarring to me when I first saw it.

I haven't seen that episode for years but it is disturbing....more so than the episode of Too Close for Comfort where Monroe gets raped.

Credit to to TCfC for going there with Monroe.

The dude in Beverly Hills 90210 that accidentally offed himself.

Ned hit me particularly hard back when I read Book 1. I thought Sean Bean’s portrayal was outstanding, but I don’t care much for the TV show.

Apollo Creed is the best mention thus far.

Any of the cool characters, besides the imp, from that series. Read the first two and a half books and just couldn't take it any longer.

Yeah man, that's probably the closest I've ever been to just saying fuck this show, I'm done watching, over a death of a character. Glad I finished it out but fuck the writers for that one. Lem was awesome.

Wait. I got one. It sort of affected me, but the key is how I envisioned the character. I think I have mentioned this before. The book was Bird Box, and I think they have a series about it now somewhere. I guess it is where that meme with Sandra Bullock comes from.

Anyway, I was a little sad when the dude in the story died, but the thing was, just before reading it, I was listening to Mully and Hanley, and all throughout reading the fucking book, I envisioned the heroic main male character as Mully. Fucking ruined the book. I was sad the character died but I was glad, too.

The canned laughter is a little uncomfortable on the TCFC episode though.

From a movie it was the Tim Robbins character from Mystic River. From TV it was Charlie on Lost.
