Keep hearing Giants Cubs trade for Heyward.

Not sure why anyone would take Heyward.

I guess he would be great in that expansive Right Field in SF.

Wonder if the Cubs have to take back Samardzija or Cueto as part of the deal.

yes i heard the same. i forgot where, but maybe we were listening to the same show. would need to pick one of those guys up if the trade goes thru. and cubs would offer someone else too.

Um no. Samardzija is meh and Cueto just underwent Tommy John in August.

My prediction: Heyward, Happ, a Myrtle Beach lottery ticket and about 20-25% of Heyward's salary for Melancon and a backup catcher with options left to go sit at AAA.

That will force Joe to play Almora every day and not tend to bench him against RH starters. I do think that eventually Bryant will pull the Ray Durham and go move out to CF to save his back.

Trib 1-15-19 Mark Gonzalez article Maddon says Harper not coming to the Cubs. I'm ok with that. But, Joe talks about young current Cubs coming into their own. But, can young players thrive in Joe-ball being platooned ,with Joe killing hot streaks, sitting guys for long stretches when they're thriving, just to get a 200 hitter his Joe-ball at bats?

"In fact, when asked about Harper during an appearance for the Union League Boys & Girls Club on Tuesday night, Maddon said: “Not happening.”

“We feel as though all the ingredients are in the bowl already,” Maddon said before conducting a fireside chat for the club. “It’s already there. To just go out and purchase guys because some kids had a tough year is probably not good form.

“I’m all about development, as we’ve talked about. I’m with the guys, Theo and Jed, regarding trying to extrapolate more with the group we already have because there’s a lot more left. We’ve seen it. We’ve got to get it more out there consistently.'

The real question is whether this will stop Cub fans here from dreaming up ways he is coming to them.

Harper will not be signed, nor should he be. Schwarber will have better numbers in 2019. Almora is a great CF and should play every day and Heyward makes too much money (Theo should never have signed him) to have him sit. Machado would have made more sense, if they had waived Russell.

Note to self.....Never reply to anything bleacher nation says on twitter. What a bunch of insufferable cucks. It makes me almost want to find a new team if this is what the fanbase is becoming. It sure seems like a lot of people follow this princess and his cubs thoughts that come from FUCKING OHIO.

Maddon would know we signed Harp 5 minutes before we did.

This team should win 93 or so and make the post season, Zobrist is off the books and hamels af years end. Get Arronando and move Kris to left.

For Halloween, Hershey's created a candy corn candy bar - a la cookies & cream. It was delicious.

Also, Circus Peanuts candy are terrific!
