How fucking long did you shower ?

Peeps's wife uses the patented Nas Shoveling System.

my wife broke a shovel yesterday...she's a badass.

I used the neighbors industrial Toro snowblower.. No way I was getting through the 3 feet of snowplow snow on my driveway apron.

Share your technique with us mortals, oh wise one!

On a sidewalk push the snow in a straight line (on the left or right side) to the end of your property and then turn it into the grass. Now stand inside the line that you created and face the other snow. If you are right handed stand to the far left and face the snow. If you're left handed stand to the far right and face the snow. Now walk down the line and push the rest of the snow into the grass.

Hey Dumbass: Whaddya do if you're ambidextrous like me? I was knee deep in snow last night and didn't have a clue about how to get rid of it. I was just sitting out there completely flummoxed for about an hour until my neighbor stopped by with his plow. Try to be a little more inclusive next time, shit for brains. Thanks.

Been using the skid steer mostly this year, can see better out of it than the loader tractors. Have contemplated getting a blower attachment for skid steer as it would make life a touch easier. I’m getting tired of pushing snow.

An angle broom attachment would be nice.

I'm probably going to invest in an 8' or 10' pusher for my bobcat. The 6' bucket is fine for now.

White male privilege defined as not having to shovel is awesome.

My wife has offered to shovel and I showed her how to use the snow blower a few years ago, but generally it is just easier for me to do it by myself.

Yeah, the angle broom has crossed my mind too. The heavy, wet snow we had in November would not have been a good match for the broom. Probably not for a blower either. Priced a pusher after the thanksgiving storm, wasn’t cheap.

My wife shoveled yesterday morning while I was in the shower. When I asked her why she did that, she said I always did it so she didn't mind.

My wife shoveled the rest of the driveway and ran the snowblower on the sidewalks while I was at work yesterday because she was able to work from home.

I've bid on a few/chased CL posts, I figured the broom would be useful year-round. Haven't caught one yet. I see a lot of those snow blowers have been sitting unused in barns for a decade at a time. Three-point units don't interest me as I get too old to turn around- I like the skid steer blower idea, but I do head over to Mom's and my Aunt's place, so road travel, even just a couple of miles, kinda limits me to a truck.

Right, I thought it would be useful to clean off road when I got too much mud on it when feeding cattle and the like but road travel is a problem with a skid. The neighbor I dug out is 4 miles away. Truck st road speed, tractor at 22-26 or skid at 9. Last 10 years or so we’ve had at least one storm that a blower woukd be nice for. Digging out the feed yard where we take distillers is not a short undertaking.

Probably going to turn my truck into a dedicated plow truck next winter. It's a 2011 f250 6.7 with 223k miles. Trailering the bobcat around is stupid.

It's not.

These links show the way people shovel snow. I'm describing something entirely different.

https://youtu.be/xoc49MEST2s

So, you "plow" a shovel width path down one side of the sidewalk or driveway edge, then "plow" perpendicularly one shovel width at a time?

That works great if the snow isn't too deep.

It still works better than the alternative even if it is deep. If it's deep and wet you have to use your back more because you will definitely have to lift.

I meant to post a video but I was shoveling at 5 in the morning on Monday and my kids would have killed me if I asked one of them to record me shoveling snow. You did a better job describing what I was trying to say but seeing it in action will probably make more sense.

I think I kind of get it now. I thought you were doing parallel pass backs which made no sense because you'll just spill in what you cleared. But yes, that is how I have always done sidewalks. If there is a lot of snow, I have to lift occassionally on the first long pass.

To avoid snow spilling over onto what you cleared, adjust how wide a swath to take...full blade, 3/4, 1/2 blade. It's just like cutting grass.

I plow the parking lot at my office in a similar fashion with my bobcat. I'll clear a path along the curb on each side of the lot long ways. That gives me a clear path to turn around in. Then I push snow back and forth cross ways up over the curb so I end up with a long pile down each side of the lot. I'll clean spill over along the way and/or after I'm done.
