And there's the main thing he gets wrong. Life has always been cheap. It's only the paradigms that "liberals" like the people at Deadspin want to tear down that have allowed us the illusion that life is anything but cheap.

Well, to be fair, we're only talking cheap seats at a Rays game.

I pretty much pay for everything with a card now, finally, but buying concessions at a baseball game seems like one of those few occasions where it is easier to pay in cash. Putting away anything about what this does for the unbanked or the destitute (who, my joke notwithstanding, probably aren't regulars at games), this "Rays card" business feels like an unnecessary contrivance. I guess more than anything, it's like who are you, the Tampa Bay Rays, to be the first team above accepting cash? You should be accepting all the money you can get.
