So you don't think he would have dropped him if he were still on the Red Sox. You sound like a Cubs fan.

I'm being a little petulant about his general posture flares the sox but the sentiments are the same: dropping a person from 1-17 in one year speaks to his original opinion, which was based on years of observation

I don't know where he had Moncada but the #1 on his list last year was Corey Seeger and his mid season #1 was Alex Bergman. Moncada has only played in the US for about a year and a half so his observations have been limited.

Moncada does struggle with contact I can see Law knocking him for that. What I cant see is leaving Reynaldo Lopez off his top 100 entirely.

He doesn't put any relievers in his top 100.

Which is stupid, relievers aren't second rate contributors anymore.

And he can be convinced that Lopez is destined for the pen all he wants (he said the same about Sale) the Sox will give him a shot in the rotation, so that makes him a starting pitcher.

True but relievers still aren't on par with top of the rotation starters, middles or power hitting corners who are the type of players on a top 100 list.

At this point, a ranking of Moncada is irrelevant anyway. He IS going to be a major leaguer within a year and then we can all be Keith Law

It's frustrating to watch guys who swing for the fences on nearly every pitch, It took me years to warm up to Baez, and even now he drives me nutz on occasion.

I'm not all in in the sense that I am penciling him in for 30/30. I'm all in in that if he, out of all the new sod prospects, does not succeed this may be the end of th sox

That's kind of silly. Yes, if they swung and missed with the trades that sent Sale and Eaton away, they may well flounder for many years before being respectable again. But if you mean the end of the Sox, because they could become so irrelevant in Chicago that they up and move to Vegas or somewhere else, I guess that is possible.

Then what you mean is that it is not silly?

It's too bad but he really is because Hahn handled this bullshit "rebuild" so poorly. I guess the only hope now is a couple of these guys come out of the gates hot and he can move them for something decent. Not sure how you can trade those two guys without having a pretty good idea of the market or the lack thereof for the other veterans on the team.

ZiPS projections system has Moncada as the 3 prospect. Kopech at 10. Giolito is at 26. Next highest guy on this list is Collins.

This is a baseless opinion that you constantly present as fact. The only fact is that none of us will know how good or poorly this rebuild went until maybe 2020 or 2021.

If you know for sure that Hahn handled this rebuild so poorly, then please cite some evidence to back it up.

If this is your opinion, it comes off very Elmhurstian in that if the Sox don't win a World Series in the next few years you can come back and say "Oh see I told you so."

Hahn sucks because he didn't take a chance to trade for a middle reliever who's been awful.

KLaw ranked Madrigal #112. I'm a little pissed he gave him a ranking at all but I still love him.

Keith Law is a moron and I'll be sure to bring it up again and again when Madrigal is better than 90% of the 111 guys he ranked ahead of him.

I'm not really sure this further evidence of him being a moron, but he also seems to hate virtually every guy the Sox draft and every prospect they acquire.

Did you ever see the clown's scouting report on Chris Sale? It's a real laugher. But Law is pretty much always wrong about everything. That's why he doesn't have a job in baseball. He just doesn't know shit but he talks loud and tries to bully people. Ask him about Whit Merrifield's "peak" in 2017.

I'm pretty sure the infield prospect the red Sox kept, Rafael Devers, had raw/basic #s roughly equal to or slightly better than moan yoncada last season. I think the hope was that the sox ended up with something like Ozzie albers at 2B but instead they've got a "project" who I guess you hope has raw talent buried beneath bad baseball habits?

Moncada rolls out of bed and gets on base more than Tim Anderson.
