Idk about BC’s theory, but he’s either spitballing or just ruined the show for us.

Have they established that timeline #2 is 1990? I thought it was later in the '80s.

Yeah, it’s 1990.

I think it's 1980, 1990, and 2015.

I WANT this to be good. I noticed the pronounced limp from Hays partner from the 90s so I am guessing something happens soon from the 80s to maybe
give him that limp. Interested to see the fallout from the explosion ending the last episode. I would tend to agree that there is something odd about Hays relationship with his wife and of course I want to know what happens to her as well. I know they are going to tie up all these loose ends in the last few episodes and hopefully make this something great.

Not sure why every fucking show these days has to have a homo angle to it, but it sure seems as if they are painting Roland to be a closet knobgobbler.

He invited the dad to sleep on his couch, and then in another scene they were holding hands and praying on the couch.

The dad also credits Roland with helping him get sober.

Pret-ty tight bond developing there.

Also, no mention of a wife, gf, or kids out of 'Ole Roly.

Its a reach, maybe, but a deductive one.

What was the key-in to this assertion?

I admit, I can't help but to watch most television shows while I am also simultaneously on my laptop, so I'm probably not as astute a viewer as most.

I just have a feeling based on the sequence of the show and how he knows she was banging someone and she denied it when it was brought up. What deny it to Hayes when it wouldn't matter to him unless it affected him somehow?

Why is he trying to bang the parishioner at the Church?

The son banging Eliza theory is all over the internet.

People are saying they figured it out from the body language between the two during the interview sessions, and how Wayne reacted to it.

Just finished episode 4. I'll agree its a little slower, but as JBills pointed out, S1 didn't give you everything up front either. Watching that season live was a struggle at times because of the hop around between the interviews and the recollections of the case. This is similar. Overall I'm still 100% in. Now on to some thoughts:

Roland is not gay. The woman he approaches at the church has a strong resemblance to the woman shown on his desk in 90. When he prayed with Mr. Purcell he clearly had that "I'm not sure what the fuck is going on but I will be polite and play along" look. Nothing in that body language said "I use to boof this guy". Its clear they developed a friendship and Roland helped him get clean.

Roland is probably wounded in the shootout next week. The garbage man has some serious firepower to include the AK, M14, hand grenades, and obviously the claymore. If you pause next week's preview there is a shot of Hayes entering the blown out front door with several dismembered bodies in the yard, to include one in a black suit behind a tree on the left (probably FBI). Earlier in the season Hayes made a remark to the effect "If I had been shot, maybe I would have gotten a promotion".

I don't care if this is treading similar ground to season 1, because it covers a phenomenon overlooked in our society. There are MANY powerful and rich people abusing kids with impugnity in this country. Jbills recommended me a book that covered some of this that happened in the 80s. I have no doubt it continues to this day.

Yes Nic Pizzolatto uses a lot of church and noir imagery, but he definitely knows what he is doing. I like a guy committed to being good at a style. This season fixed a lot of the issues in S2: too many characters, too many A/B/C plots, and unclear direction.

It's clear that Julie might not be fathered by Mr. Purcell. Whether it is the cousin or someone else remains to be seen.

All said I can't wait till next week.

He ain't gay, the weird homo stuff with children's father will probably be explained by Roland covering his ass after he gets drunk n kills that pervert cousin of his wife.

I've enjoyed season 3 so far. Nothing groundbreaking but miles better than season 2.

Old Hays definitely knows his son is sleeping around with the blonde.

It'll be interesting to see what 2015 West is like and what happened in 1980 to Hays to derail his career.

Odds are the career derailed because he feels they got the wrong guy.

Hayes career derailed twice.

Going to be interesting to see how those two situations unfold.
