When a commentator says that a team plays a "physical" style of defense.

Do some teams play a "delicate" or "cerebral" style?

Boxing not being like Rocky movies

Boxers like Floyd who are boring as fuck. Nobody wants to watch you roll your shoulder for 12 rounds.

1. NFL coach's clock management. They're just so bad a it. Everyone should have a statistician or someone similar in the box or on the field telling them what to do. If they already have one, get a better one.

2. NFL player's clock management. They're even worse at. Get out of bounds, stop throwing 4 yard passes in the middle of the field, run downfield after a completion.

3. NFL clock rules. I swear the league wants as few plays as possible. Get out of bounds? The clock stops for like 5 seconds before they set the ball and restart it (last 2 minutes of the first half and last 5 of the 2nd excluded). Pre-snap penalty? Sure, 40 seconds just ran down after the last play, but we're going to restart the clock and blow 25 more. Another penalty? Great 25 more seconds to waste. Hope you enjoyed a minute and a half of absolutely nothing happening. Because I'm paranoid about the clock I also notice whenever a guy gets tackled near the sidelines and sorta gets out of bounds the refs always seem to lean towards keeping the clock going rather than calling him out of bounds, not that it matters much since it'll start in 5 seconds anyway. There are more, but those stand out.

I know people don't want games to be 4 hours long like in college (I mean I wouldn't mind since they're actually running plays), but there's just so much wasted time in NFL games it annoys me.

I would have thought that referring to players as "assets" (things (predominantly black players) to be bought and sold by (predominantly white) owners) would be...deeply troubling, but apparently not.

Eh, where I work we're called Human Capital. I don't think that's more dignified than "assets".

 Dude, over the holidays, I caught Rocky 3 on TV. I don't know if I never noticed it before or what, but the fake punches are awful. They don't even come close. Rocky 4 is a bit better.

Either way, still great, but I couldn't believe how I'd never really noticed how fake they are.

add "that's a nice golf shot" to that list. They're playing golf, no need to call it a golf shot. Just call it a shot you stuck up prick.

In the first fight, Rocky is staggered in the corner. Clubber holds him up for three long breaths (pointing this out because its not like it's slo mo...he holds him up in the corner for 3-4 full seconds) and then winds up from way back and crushes him. Amazing and Awesome.

Punt returners who let the ball hit the ground and then bounce for another 20 yards.
Punt returners who make a fair catch at the 7 yard line.

He probably should have died from that, but instead he just shrugged it off and went on to perform amazing athletic feats.

That's what Larry Bird would do.

95% of punt returners who run backwards after catching the ball.
