The daughter says the father is part of "them". Not a chance. She could be talking about the 2nd or 3rd guy at the press conference. Maybe the 2nd or 3rd guy told her personally that he was her father.

Or maybe the Mom told her this guy ain't your daddy, did I catch that right when the missing girl says something like" I saw what you did to Chris"

Maybe the missing girl made the peephole n saw the dad molest the boy.

Joanna Robinson is a cool follow for shows like this.

That makes this season about 3X as interesting now.

I want to know how they treat the journalist. I kinda hope they clown her like Payne Lindsey deserves these web journalists are doing decent work but also taking a bunch of credit for stuff they didn’t do.Yeah that’s you Payne.

Dorff is doing a great job. Sucks for him he will be best known for Blade. I expect a dismal ending though. Nic wasn’t a show runner and wrote one mediocre at best novel. I think he has great taste but less than stellar delivery.

Maniac was fun but I wish Cary Fukanaga was directing this.

Also are they implying astral projection with the bedroom scene? It seems like the 1990 version saw the 2015. Or is that just to be chalked up the unreliable narrator? I get the 2015 definitely is but is the 90’s version also?

I think that's just artistic license.

You know what would be great? Understanding the motivations of any of these characters. And, like the rest of the show, that shootout felt contrived.

A lot depends on the last 3 episodes, but I think I may like this season more than season 1.

The only piece that felt contrived to me was he was unarmed when the hillbillies came back around. If he was ready for a final stand off, he would be packing something on him to get home.

I’m thinking more and more Amelia is not part of the kidnapping, but is just trying to be an investigative journalist.

The kid’s mom dying in Vegas and her brother being in the same area is a red flag.

The Hoyt family could have a connection to the pedo ring in season 1.

Wtf happened to Lori?

What is Tom going to do? I think Tom is gonna fuck everything up.

I def enjoy seeing how Wayne is starting to let the case get to him in 1990. Wayne and Roland did some dirt in 1990.

Amelia is a parasite, in it for what the case can do for her personally, financially and sexually. Always digging in Wayne Hays head for dirt. Like after the shoot out, she didn't give two shits about him and kept asking "Tell me what happened." Same with the initial dinner etc etc. That's why Wayne Hays gets pissed at dinner and other times, this case is killing him and it's the opposite for Amelia who has no problem boasting about it knowing it hurts him. She's terrible.

And the tie back to the Clinton's...yeah, it's on the periphery. Tyson foods is in there too.

Really? I like it so far but much less than most seem to. Roland West is the only thing keeping me tuned in at this point. Ali’s performance has been forgettable thus far imo.

Yeah the ending of season 1 really soured it for me. This season can certainly blow the ending too which would diminish much of the good.

The 3 timelines and the interweaving of stories has been solid, and I think both Dorff and Ali have done great jobs playing their characters in all 3 times.

Except for the last two episodes when Rust and Marty became Tango and Cash.

My biggest beef with this season is that Wayne mumbles a lot, especially the 2015 version. I have to watch shit 5 times to know what he said.

We use closed captioning for the first viewing. I'd be totally lost without it.

Ali is doing a great job with the 2015 version of Hays. His performance as the 1980 and 1990 versions is, however, too one-note for me. Like children, detectives should laugh once in a while too.

I need to do that. I missed a lot of lines in the last episode. Good call.

spitballing

Hayes son is banging the blonde producer.

He is a cop banging an opertunistic reporter. Like so history repeating.

Big clues in the scene at the convent. Pay attention to the last name on the gardeners truck.

My theory, at some point Roland was in, or knew of the cover up between Lucy/Hoygt and the DA/Local Sheriffs.
But at some point, Roland's conscious got the best of him and Hays and himself went vigilante style and killed those behind it.

That's the deep secret they talk about as old men to each other. Also, the end of the last episode, when Wayne told Roland to look out the window for a car, I thought for sure he was going to kill him, remembering a portion in time of when Roland hid stuff from him on the kidnapping.

That is why Roland was telling Wayne to go home, not come into the office, he doesn't want him getting "too close" to it.
