I'm one of the 10. But yeah, noone really gives a shit. Hard to believe considering so many Chicago alumni.

Illini were huge in this city not that long ago. It's odd how quickly they disappeared from competitiveness and public consciousness.

I remember as a kid when the Illini went to the Rose Bowl. Radio stations made songs about the Illini and Steve Dahl did a live broadcast from the Rose Bowl parade.

It’s the fighting Illini in a Pasadena to the tune of The Little Old Lady From Pasadena is one I recall.

Between those, Country Financial ads and the odd sound of the broadcasts I always think of the early eighties when I hear the games.

How about watching the High School tournament in the late 70's, early 80's on WGN. Loved those downstate announcers
talk about how strong the team from Mcleansboro was, and how Springfield Lanphier was playing their best hoops of the season.
After watching those games all day/night Saturday, for whatever reason I always wanted to go out and plant some feed corn?

They always seemed scared when talking to Simeon's head coach, or Landon Cox from King.
