Unless the organizational documents are the worst drafted documents ever as it relates to the powers of the ultimate owners of the entity, Dad Ricketts has all the power to remove anyone who is a Director at any time, for essentially any reason.

Saying that Joe Ricketts isn't involved in the ownership of the Cubs because he isn't on the board of directors is like saying I'm not involved in the operation of my house because I pay a guy to mow my lawn once a week.

I mean I'm sure it sucks for the Ricketts kids that their dad is publicly exposed as a run of the mill old white guy - type bigot, but that's who Dad Ricketts is.
