Damn, Roland could very well be a gay. Oh well.

Lucy sold Julie to the Hoyts, since they lost their granddaughter, but Will got in the way and he accidentally died. When Lucy tried to ask for more money and threatened to expose them, they had her killed.

They paid Harris James to frame Woodward and gave him the cushy security job. The AG is involved as well. Maybe Roland's boss too.

We got to see the scarred man with a milky eye (Julia's dad and the guy who kills Kevin and sends him to the hotel the first time in the Leftovers). The scarred man and the white woman (Hoyt daughter?) are seen trolling around paying attention to kids. Why does he show up again in 90 at Amelia's book signing? Just to try and see about Julie?

Last 2 episodes should be good. Hopefully.

Like I said, I think to a degree Roland knew about it as well. It makes perfect sense, they have setup Roland to be the character everyone gravitates to. To a degree, he "went along with it" which probably explain why he got that cush promotion, he "kissed the right rings"

I don't think Roland knew about it but yeah he was a go-along-to-get-along guy and Hays wasn't.

While I tend to agree, my only beef with this theory is that knowing what a pitbull Hays was, why would Roland bring him back into the investigation 10 years later knowing that Hays was so obsessed with it, and that Hays thought back in 1980 that they jumped too quickly to a conclusion?

Maybe the case ate at him too and he wanted to really solve it in 90. I don't know.

Yeah, I see Roland as a guy in constant internal conflict.

All in all there are situations that happened in 1980 and 1990 that led these two on different paths before reconnecting. We haven’t been shown those scenes yet.

I’m still very intrigued.

You're right. The case itself is standard pervert rich guy cover up stuff. What's intriguing is the rift from 1990. Hays can't remember what the rift is. All he knows is there's some scores yet to settle. Becca and Amelia maybe are part of the score to settle?

Tom was entertaining. Just a lost bull rummaging around in a china shop. It seems he's redeemed himself for his lack of awareness and ignorance.

Did we ever find out what happened to Hays daughter?

I feel like I need to rewatch the season from the start before the last couple episodes.

I thought she simply moved away.

Roland came out of the closet to his good friend Purple Hays and Hays refused to be associated with a peter puffer.

Hays shouldn't be judging anybody with that fade he has.

 I nominate Roland's 1980 Beatle cut wig for worst hairstyle on the show.

The first thing I thought when he walked past the big door was about how long he would last without food or water if he got trapped in there.

. . . frankly, I think they blew it by having Harris follow him in there. So unnecessary to confront a man carrying a loaded revolver when you could just lock him in there.

But that wouldn't be as good for the story.

I'm still scratching my head over the Night King throwing an ice spear like Jan Železný at a flying Viserion when fucking Drogon was right in front of him with all of his enemies sitting astride.

My ending would have Ser Robert Strong ripping the Night King's head clean off and then the rest of the others and their wights just crumble to shards.

Too risky and I don’t think that is it. The DA brought him back in right. Gotta rewatch that. I think Roland May have thought they got the wrong guy but they were pretty sure she was dead.

Hoyt’s buying her makes some sense for sure. I feel that could have been done cleaner though. Tom wasn’t her father so a paternal test and the mom signing over the rights seems an easier way but then again that doesn’t make for a very interesting story.

Don’t know they didn’t show what Roland saw but we can assume he was being legit. That being said doesn’t mean it’s always there. You have to assume it plays some part because Wayne’s memory is already established as unreliable we don’t need to be brown beaten with that fact.

I'm super terrible at using the quote function, but someone in this thread stated that Hays son and the blonde "reporter" were doing the sex... kudos... I'm really enjoying this season. Just finished the most recent episode, easy to draw parallels between the pink room and man with the green ears, but "can't wait" (Bart Scott) for the next episode.

Might want to rephrase that last sentence...especially when referencing Wayne.
