My brother, Jason Eagan, has Down syndrome and became a fire fighter in Sandoval, IL. He responded to every single call and it has come to my knowledge he quit a few months back due to harassment from a fellow fireman. It disappoints and angers me that this was allowed and that a grown man bullied a fellow fireman simply because he’s different. I’m beyond pissed off!! Be thankful I live 400 miles away because I would take action on your sorry behind! My brother is an incredible person with an amazing drive and heart. You should be ashamed of yourself. Aside from doing the main things that make a firefighter a firefighter, such as fighting fires...

It was a nice gesture to make him a part of their department, but calling him a firefighter is a stretch. He's more of an assistant at the most or, at the least, a mascot.

His sister sounds pretty lazy.

So this guy is willing to do the boring annoying work and they're bullying him? A bunch of Mensa candidates in that department.

volunteer fire departments in rural areas have a lot of great guys but also are comprised of like community college yokles whose IQ's run south of 85. So can totally see this happening.

Had a hay fire here a few years ago.. it ducked but we had 6 or 7 departments out at what was essentially a controlled burn. I apologized to one of the chiefs and he laughed and said all the guys were basically happy to get out of the house and away from the honey doo list. The Amish crew that came down were nuts.

Yes, I hated that show. Every Down Syndrome person was called Corky for years after that was on the air.
