I was a regular viewer during the Amanda Puck & Alpana Singh shows. Kind of fell away after that. Alpana Singh is wonderful to have back. Watched the Max and Benny's episode. I love the pure honesty of the reviews. With all the political brainwashed fake news and opinions it's enjoyable to see people speaking from the heart. Lots of tension when the review turns sour. Great show.

In this week's episode, somebody "picked" a real winner.

At 2:27 in this video, please tell me I'm not the only one who sees the guy with dark hair wearing a blue shirt with white collar and cuffs nose mining at the table?

Holy cannoli!

Who edits this show?!?

I was watching the episode on Saturday and thought the exact same thing.

On another note, what kind of douche would choose a food court? Check Please should tell him it wasn't an acceptable choice. It's like choosing Corner Bakery. Next thing you know someone will choose the De Paul cafeteria

Agree on the food court, even if your description and analogy are way off. It is a helluva lot more impressive than any other food court you've been to. But, that said I do agree that it shouldn't have been allowed on the show. It was stupid and the results were predictable with the other two people saying that you should go all the stand alone restaurants instead of trying their skimmed down food court versions.

I agree. Those are 10 or 15 distinct operations, each with their own staff, training, etc, unless you are just reviewing curation, or space management. I also don't want to see a food truck on "Check, Please!"

A Goggles episode of Check Please in the break room of RPB's office would be must see TV.

I have been aggressively pursuing James VanOsdol to take on my Crepes and Staples podcast.

so then you would agree with me that it's a helluva lot more impressive than any other food court you've been to, no?

Not sure why my reply warranted the douche label...

There are pills and now chews that can help with that.

I just watched the last episode. Agreed that a food court (I'm not hip enough to call it a "food hall") isn't a restaurant. First Max & Benny's, now this. What's next for Check, Please- Rasmus Pizza Restoran? Also, I couldn't believe Club Lucky has never appeared before. It's a strange place in that it began as a faux Italian supper club, but it's been around so long it's now the genuine article.

When I went to Philly in 2010 to see the Hawks win the Cup the owner of Club Lucky (the bald guy) was in our group of 5 travelers. Had a great time partying with him over those 24 hours. Made all sorts of plans to hang out and go to Club Lucky, but never followed through. That said, prior to 2010 I had been to CLub Lucky several times and liked it.

The food is nothing special- it's a cut above Italian Village- but the bar is pretty cool.

This season is definitely a cut above the last few. People sound as if they genuinely like these places. Especially the older spots. Or not.

I agree...I think it's the Alpana factor.

I've actually appreciated all 3 hosts in their own ways, but Alpana was clearly made for this format. She's unassumingly hysterical.
That being said, ain't no way I'm paying for a meal in that Malaysian place tonight.

By sheer happenstance, I found myself at Club Lucky tonight for dessert and coffee, wearing jeans and my Hazardous Youth T-shirt. I think it would have created a JORR moral conundrum.
