Well this show is pretty much over now. I mean it's been bad since the episode where glen died but this is now a whole new level of poopie.

I've liked the 3 episodes since the time jump.

That Scott Gimple guy is the problem, and even though they say he moved to the other show, for some reason he is still in on the decisions for this show.

He is in charge of the whole franchise now for some ungodly reason.

The fucker has miraculously managed to fail upward.

Maybe the bar has been severely lowered but I am with Peeps on the fact that things seem significantly better since the time jump. Lots of questions
to answer and a lot of things can happen. At least we aren't bogged down with them settling their camps and respective towns. I'd like to see how the
rest of this season plays out before I officially say the show sucks.

only reason the time jump has worked is because of all the questions/mysteries it raises, but that only gives the show an incomplete grade since you have to hold off on truly evaluating the time jump until you see how they answer those questions. We've all been burned before by a show that starts out with all sorts of mystery and then blows the reveal. Let's not forget Lost.

It's definitely not good.

But it's better than it was.

New questions and mysteries beat the same old repeated character arcs over and over.

I'm calling bullshit on that X thing as well.

No way in the heat of all that shit that was going on that bridge they knew the exact nature of Rick's impalement injury.

They might have seen blood - on his hands (and I would say only Darryl saw that), but they didn't get the chance to inspect closely enough to know exactly where to put the X.

Is that actually a theory? That they marked themselves in memory of Rick? I think something far more interesting happened than that.
Something that drove all three of the communities apart. They will go through this whole Whisperers thing but because of the time jump
there are obvious chances to go back to that time frame and I bet they probably were invaded by yet another group that marked them
somehow possibly. Really not sure.

I'm five episodes into this season. I think it has been great. None of the episodes has been slow. There is storytelling in each and every one of them. Zombies are back in much greater numbers. There is more rationality in how the characters are acting. It has been fun.

When the bridge explodes, Rick would have been blown away from the river, not into it. Whatever. Glad to see him get out of Nam.

I think these 8 episodes have made me fall back in love with this series. It's a fun watch again packed with lots of action and thought provoking situations. They certainly have enough on their plate right now to take this through season 10, with Whisperers, Negan, the helicopter, the story of the rift between Alexandria and Hilltop.

What I do not want to see is Negan return and just be the same old Negan. That guy was fun while he lasted but he had to have changed internally from years of imprisonment and externally he had to have lost the esteem of the less hard core Saviors. We haven't really seen what their situation is anyway. It's been five or so years, they seem to have lost their connection to the other locations, they can't grown their own food but they really can't strong arm it from others either. We know the Saviors lost many of their kind through war and attrition so who even knows how many remain. Negan has also aged physically. He may still have some toughness but he looks old. Anyway, its a new situation and I want a new Negan or he can go away.

Kind of a boring episode.

Negan stuff was alright and the end with the Whisperers en masse looked cool but other than that it was meh.

I thought it was aright. So far I think they have done the Whisperers thing about as well as they could. Never know when they are going to pop out of a
herd or something. I think a big factor will be how they develop Alpha, their female leader and Beta the a really big enforcer guy.

Backstory of Lydia wasn't bad. Alpha and the gang showing up was neat too. But another kind of boring episode.

I'm with you, it was just ok. The backstory stuff was interesting and necessary for us to help understand the character. My guess is that we will get some
more of that on Alpha. Not really convinced she is a true badass but we will find out soon enough. We have no idea how many people they have.

I'm liking it so far. Really like the actress they got to play Alpha, they went all out getting an Oscar nominated actress. She looked quite bad ass as the end of the ep. I hope they stay true to the comics in regard to her story arc. Won't say anything else cause of possible spoilers.

How does that group exist/thrive if they just kill off everyone they meet?

Esteemed douche, they don't kill everyone they meet. Only groups they find threatening. I think they pick up loners and incorporate them into the group.

I don't know why Alex & Hilly don't just make some bombs and throw em into every heard they see and then gun 'em down till they are all dead.

Boom - too easy.

Beta Myers...

Throw him down an elevator shaft and he keeps coming.

I hate Henry.

I like the Highwaymen.
