Not a huge fan of the report today saying the defensive prospects are on the table if a trade offer comes up to their liking..........because 2 and 7 aren't going anywhere. No. They aren’t controlling puck enough, defense is sloppy and gives up lots of quality shots and are still very top heavy up front amongst other problems.

I just want one "hockey" trade tomorrow. If Stan can somehow get one bottom 6 guy or an actual 5th or 6th d-man I will be going through the roof.

Do you guys think he'll retire? If he does, does his salary still count against the cap?

If he actually retired I think there would be a 1 million dollar recapture next year with how is contract is structured (but I’m not 100% sure on that, Hair would know better) that being said he’d probably just go on LTIR before next year.

If he retires, I think 2/3 of his remaining salary is spread over double his remaining years.

If he's owed $6mil for one more year, that means $4mil spread over 2 years. That's a $2mil cap hit each of the next 2 years.
