I think now a days, you need 1-2 of these types of players on your roster or atleast a legit 3-4 hitter combo. I think we can assume, Eloy is going to be something really good. Let us say he is the 40hr 100+rbi guy. Jerry has shown he is not interested in going after a legit superstar via FA. So where does the other hitter come from? I really do not see anyone in the minors with that type of power, and it is not even close. I think Moncada is going to take a step, but he is not going to be that type of hitter. So, this leaves either the trade market, in which you would need an asset(s) to give up, which kills your minor leagues, and I do not think someone is going to give up that type of hitter. Or.....We become the Pirates, which I think we are well on our way of being. It is sad as a Sox fan in my 30s, that I am wishing for a change in ownership.
