Due to some strange circumstances this morning not worth detailing here (so spare me the old 'why do you listen' argument), I listened to a much, much longer, uninterrupted chunk of the MNMS than I usually do.

Now, I have been one of North's biggest critics here, ripping just about everything about him and his show. To Mike North and all the readers here who may have read my comments and my little satires, I humbly apologize. I was not accurate in my assessment. His show is way, way, WAAAAY worse than I peviously thought and my comments were not harsh enough.

Between the outright misinformation ("Da Cubs have already played more den half dere home games already. When has dat ever happened dis early?"), the stupid arguments (see Bigfan's mention of the Linebrink/Marmol thing), and pure unaldulterated stupidity (Jen said the fire at Universal Studios destroyed some sets used for TV shows in the 1920's. When Mike questioned whether TV was around back then, no one really knew for sure and they had to "look it up." It wasn't.), it was just beyond belief that this passes for a big-time, major-market show. And these are only a few highlights; it was virtually a nonstop shitfest of ignorance and nonsense, most of which was spouted by North in his typical screaming/yelling mode.

Sorry, Mike, for "underestimating" you. I knew you were bad, but I didn't really know you could maintain such a steady stream of badness for so long a time. If there's a Viagra for stupidity, you must be taking it, because I never knew anyone could keep it up for that long.

I actually think Jen Jen and Pappy trying to figure out if TV was around in the 1920's would have been amusing.

They're close. 34 or 35 home games already, thats gotta be near the top of the league. But my is that a dumb statement. 41 home games by June 2..

Really? I dont like North either but why doesnt he just bump the same damn thread thatd been reposted like 10,000 times here. When people say Mike North is a stupid racist, or Harry is unfunny and lame and hurts the show, do they think if they dont post a new topic about it every 2 days we will suddenly forget thats the popular opinion out there? I think of these posts like fat people that never leave the couch and, eventually, after a few years, they start to grow into the couch until they are one, combined. Sure, you could remove the person, but that couch will never be the same and who's to say where the person ends and the couch begins. The person and the couch have become symbiotic.

In much the same way, the board and the North haters, also, cannot exist separately. They are a fabric of the board itself.
