We have an Indian jet down in Kashmir.

No official word on shoot down or crash, but this picture is on Twitter and that looks a lot like a SAM contrail. If the picture in the below tweet is verified, then we probably have a shoot down.



There is a really gruesome picture floating around of the pilot. He did not eject.

India's official line is "technical issue" but that's a lie

This just got posted. That plane got shot down. I've seen multiple SAM launches in person and can tell you that smoke trail is from a missile that took down the jet.



I can't tell definitively what type of aircraft it is from the wreckage, but the partial tail number I was able to take down from a picture of the wreckage tells me this was probably a BAE Hawk that got shot down

This jet down is concurrent with reports of 3 Pakistani air force jets crossing the LoC momentarily. It is starting to look like this was an AA shoot down by those Paki jets rather than a SAM. Either way, Pakistan entered Indian airspace and an Indian jet in the area is down almost immediately after. The BAE Hawk is a trainer aircraft so it wouldn't stand a chance if fired upon. It has no RWR to alert the crew if targeted by Radar, no chaff, and no flares.

That's a pretty fucking major escalation

Total count as of now is 2 Indian aircraft shot down and 1 Paki F-16 shot down.

No word on Paki pilot, but 1 Indian pilot is dead and the other was captured. Video of his capture is all over twitter
