I think the larger issue with US journalism is that the "journalists" aren't informed enough to even write about serious issues like India and Pakistan. I'd wager 9 out of 10 "journalists" can't tell you what the Kargil War was. If you can't answer that, then how the hell do you write about what is happening today?

You really begin to lose faith in journalism as a profession when you see constant errors made regarding basic facts of a topic. I guess that's what happens when the piece is written by some churnalist in a NY office who hasn't ever been to the Middle East or South Asia.

One of my favorites was a Vox article 5 years ago where they claimed there was a bridge between Gaza and the West Bank. If you get something like that wrong, how can I trust anything else you write about the topic?

The US media is pathetic, but part of the problem is the general illiteracy about history in general. Certainly a tiny percentage of the population has any idea about that part of the world or its history. Other than Julie of course. This is really starting to lok bad from a local point of view. The Arabian world will not let the Paks go down easy as they have been shipping them a ton of cash to keep them afloat. The Paks are the largest source of manpower for the Gulf States.

This is completely inaccurate. China and India are regional rivals. Pakistan on the other hand has China's backing. If China were to intervene (they won't other than diplomatically) they would be fare more likely to do so on Pakistan's side.

As for the Gulf States, they are taking a "we don't care approach." MBS actually visited both countries just last week so they aren't picking sides here.

As for US equipment, we aren't sending shit. We have never intervened in these wars in any means other than diplomatically and that will continue. This is completely not our fight and our only interest here is a deescalation and deconfliction by both sides.
