Presbyterian, usually. I think the Presbyterians in the South are a little more fire-and-brimstone, all that Appalachian Scots-Irish, while the northerners are just basic boring liberal prots.

These would be prince Edward island Exiled Scot who moved to Iowa... they sure weren’t fire and brimstone but to be fair my dad is basically areligious and his mom (the Scot) was mainly just raging anti catholic, amongst other predjudices (What kind of last name is that? she asked my brother while he was dating a Czech girl.) that and of course they hated the Irish but who doesn’t? Right Tommy?

Grandmother has been dead for several years and I am unaware of how she reacted to her son’s part polish, catholic wife. Heck my mom’s grandmother was fresh off the boat from Warsaw when her twin sister became a nun in 1900ish Chicago.

I was raised rural Presbyterian. I don't think you even have to believe in God to qualify. It's very laid back, but they are all very good people who would give you the shirt off their back.

I was raised on the suburban brand of Christianity, for whatever that's worth, but maybe one of you could help me out: When I would go with my Mom, there was a move that she and the other parishioners would do that I never quite grasped—neither when to do it nor why—which always seemed super-strange. The minister would do a reading and then say some key phrase (I can't recall what it was) and then all of the adults would make three moves in quick succession with basically a clenched fist, thumb barely extended towards themselves: A cross over their forehead area, a cross over their mouths, and a cross over their chest, all while muttering a phrase I never got to learn.

What the hell was that? What were they doing?

You want the Word of God on your mind, on your lips, and in your heart.

A reading from the Gospel according to LTG...

Glory to You, Oh Lord.

So it contained grammatical and format errors while calling them racist? Why would they like that? Glad I found atheism.

You’re describing a lot of the rural churches I’ve basically been adopted by a family out here, treated like another son and my kids as grandkids. It’s different... in a good way.

I don't know why you take such offense to Polish jokes. There's no way you understand them.

You'd think Quad Cities Skin Cancer would celebrate rosaries being taken away, considering religion is just so fucking stupid and racist and patriarchal and misogynistic and dumb and retarded and white people suck and beer is great and Star Wars rules and my wife is hot and my 11 year old daughter is in fucking Mensa and fuck Trump and blah blah blah and did I mention I've seen more child abuse than you could imagine in your worst nightmares and you don't want any part of these hands?

So he put his daughter and friends in some sort of public post meeting Warren? I agree leave kids alone but why do that on Twitter when you are a public person?

It would have been alot cooler if he had his daughter wear a "Committed to the Indian" shirt.
