NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Patriots are not expected to tag K Stephen Gostkowski.
One kicker has already been tagged this cycle -- 49ers K Robbie Gould -- but the Patriots will not add Gostkowski's name to that list. Gostkowski has been a reliable kicker for a long time, but he slipped a bit last season, converting "only" 84.4 percent of his kicks. Rapoport reports the Patriots still want to bring Gostkowski back, but they obviously want it to be at less than the [b]$4.971 million [b] the tag would have paid him.

he'd be worth $5 mil to sign

I'm not even sure the Bears have $5 million in cap space

They just released Sam Acho today, which frees up about half of that in cap room.

The Bears currently have 16 million dollars in available cap space and that doesn't count Kyle Long's restructure(details not released yet) so the Bears likely will have closer to 20 million dollars in cap space. Troll harder/better.

Yup 16 million that DOESN'T include Long's restructure or Acho. So safe to say the Bears are working with 20 million+ in cap space

i think at this point you bring in the hardest working guy you can find. what his market value is doesnt matter, and even if hes not the best kicker theres no way hes as bad as parkey.... the one thing you cant do is bring in a kicker that the team doesnt like. when gould missed the whole team rallied behind him. they didnt care, because they liked him, and that alone helped him make more kicks. bring in another weird parkey dude and the team will be frustrated as all hell and it will be a disaster.
