If he retires, I think 2/3 of his remaining salary is spread over double his remaining years.

If he's owed $6mil for one more year, that means $4mil spread over 2 years. That's a $2mil cap hit each of the next 2 years.

That’s buyout. Generally with retirement they add up the money over AVV you’ve paid (Crawford was paid 6.5 each of first two years vs an AVV of 6 and is scheduled to make 5 in last year (might be million high and be 5.5, 5 and 4 respectively. He won’t retire though so it’s a moot point, ltir for a yeR if he’s done. There are articles about it connected to Shea Weber and how if he retires it would destroy the Preds (also saying nhl probably wouldn’t invoke the recapture).

I believe Crawford was signed under the current CBA which regulates AAV variance and is therefore not subject to recapture. Weber's contract, which was offered by the Flyers but matched by the Predators, predates (ha) the current CBA, and according to the rules, the Predators would be hit with recapture penalties if he were to retire a Hab, but it's darling little Nashville and Bettman would probably let them off the hook if that happened the way he let up on New Jersey's new owner for the Kovalchuk stuff.

Agreed. It's either LTIR or he's playing. Plus, has he ever made any overtures to retiring due to these concussions?

Caught the 3rd period. How'd Crawford look in the first 2?

Crow looked good. He said he wanted a couple of the goals back but all in all solid performance after 2+ months.
The game winning goal was a thing of beauty by the Captain, Saad & Kaner!!!

That 5th LA goal was flukey as all hell, but again, no defenders within 10 feet of the play.

They're hanging in there, tying it up with under 30 seconds left in the first.

A completely different team from yesterday.

I wish they would get rid of Crow asap. I know he didnt play tonight but there is just some kind of dark cloud with him. They were alot more fun and better when he was gone. I have a feeling his teammates do not like him at all.

Given this years absence, I'm more convinced than ever....his leave last season was rehab. There's no way he's out for vertigo symptoms due to concussion for THAT long, only to come back this year....have yet another concussion...recover and then back to playing. No way....not in this day and age.

That end of 2nd period PP was beautiful but shots kept going wide. Then the Sharks defense in the 3rd was nails. The Sharks took that half-second away nearly every chance they Hawks needed to rip a shot or make that extra pass.

Hawks just don't have the horses.

I would not agree with that thinking. Concussions are funny especially in hockey. I watched Crosby and Letang basically be fucked like this separately for 1.5 years. Then like it never happened.

This team was dogshit with Crawford early in the year, they were great without him and now they are dogshit again with him back.

Has Crawford somehow hurt the Hawks powerplay? Has he made Kane go in this small slump?

Eddie’s gonna blow his load cause he keeps talking about how great the Yotes’ defense has been in the last 10 games.
