Does it still count as the same meal if I switch it up between turkey and chicken chili throughout the week? When I'm dieting (which is pretty much always these days) I go to Anton's for the chili every day for sometimes 6 straight months.

 Two turkey chili references in the same thread! That has to be a CFMB record.

Also, zero references to using Hershey's kisses in said chili!

I am back in a role where I go into the office a couple days a week. I hadn't done that for a few years. All these people talk about, think about, and dream about is food days. It appears as though it might be their only sense of joy. Pot lucks, birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, demotions, canker sores, Fridays, Tuesdays, election day, Earth day, workdays, weekends, you name it.

As such, I can usually scavenge something for free and without having to leave the office for the day. Decent variety, too.

I'm thinking the food is pretty bland when they are celebrating canker sores.

Chili is in the rotation of about 5-6 things I routinely eat each week for my usual afternoon/evening meal.

Just had some for the week!

We were in a turkey chili rut for a while. No longer every other week.

Try Hamdi if in Minneapolis. Neighborhood gets a little rough there, but the goat is great.

My breakfast, when I eat one, is pretty consistent but I guess I flop between a breakfast sausage and bacon. Although if I could plan accordingly I’d probably do huevos rancheros more often than not. Just don’t have the time to make chorizo often enough (have been unimpressed with local versions last few years).

If you only eat sausage or bacon for breakfast, may I ask how often you eat breakfast?

It’s with eggs usually, fruit or toast depending on what’s going on. I just flop between those two sides as an addition. Actual sit down breakfast is consumed maybe twice weekly most of the year. Heavy work periods more often because I’ll often skip lunch.

That's where Greek diners and all the potatoes fit the bill. I can hit Valois in Hyde Park and barely be hungry for dinner 10 hours later.

Once I'm completely an empty nester, that may become my everyday move. And learn to make a primarily vegetables dinner.

Gotta be honest, a booth at Texas Roadhouse seems an odd place for someone with PTSD to find tranquility. but to each their own. If Favre Fan ever finds his way to Wichita I hope Ron has his DD214 handy.

Yeah, I mean, the rolls are the most edible thing at a Texas Roadhouse.

The field supervisor I had when I first started at the plant ate the exact same thing every lunch- ham on white with only mayo, Ruffles and diet cherry Pepsi. He's still there, on the verge of retirement, and has now branched out a bit, but went over ten years with that routine that I can attest to. Truth be known, he lives in a rented mobile home here while his family is about four hours away, so he keeps it pretty simple while here. He lost his wife last year, some things have changed, unfortunately.

Well that story went downhill pretty quickly.

I don't eat the same thing day after day but I do food prep for the week on Saturday or Sunday afternoon where I make enough food to eat through the week. Might be browning a couple pounds of turkey or grilling chicken or hamburgers and with those staples I can mix up different things pretty good.

Those same kids do that shit to this day, and also all probably are anti-vaxxers whose kids all have peanut allergies.
