Loaiza's 2013 was one of my favorite Sox seasons ever. I think I went to three or 4 games that he pitched. I vividly remember one game in May against the Rangers where his stuff was nearly unhittable. The Sox won by 4 or 5 runs, and Marte finished out the game. I think Loaiza gave up 1 run early but was lights out after that. I had really good seats just to the RF side of Nancy Faust's little booth, and watching the movement on his pitches that night was a thing of beauty.

Sad to see what became of him.
