I've just always held the deepest respect for studio musicians, guys like Blaine, the guys in Muscle Shoals, the studio guys in the California scene of the late 70's and 80's. These were true professionals that were OK with not having the light put on them, yet were magnificent players.

I just want to say this guy lived into his 90s, so he had a very full life. So many times the RIPs of musicians are half to a third of that.

That was a great era for drumming. I think a lot of that Surf/Phil Spector/Bo Diddley beat drumming shares more in common with Swing and Mambo than blues/rockabilly
