The Commission said on Monday after two recent crashes involving the Boeing 737 Max 8 that it doesn't see any reason to ground the planes in the U.S., even though the European Union today joined China and Ethiopia in doing so indefinitely. 157 people died from the crash of Ethiopian Airlines flight 302 on Sunday, which was a Boeing 737 Max.

I think it's fair to say that the FAA is no independent regulatory body, if they cannot see what is an obvious causality to others.

Southwest canceled my flight to Phoenix during the middle of the night due to “mechanical problems”. I’m betting they pulled the aircraft. The pilot on my rebooked flight (standard 737) actually sort of acknowledged that something was up.

Southwest is having issues with their mechanics in the first place. Half of their fleet is out of service or some shit like that.

And article in the WSJ notes that a reason the corrective software fix isn't in place in part because, wait for it...the 5 week government shutdown prevented FAQ regulators to work with Boeing on it.

Yup. A noted socialist rag like the WSJ is chock full of fake news.

No, RR is correct. The FAA has to approve those types of changes. The NTSB couldn't get out and investigate things the way they normally would during the shutdown. The FDA couldn't approve drugs or implement new farming rules the way they normally would. the USDA could not conduct inspections of meat/food processing plants the way they normally would. The Gov't shutdown affected ALL of those things. These are facts, not "happy horseshit."

But if the FAA hadn’t signed off on the changes, wouldn’t the assumption be that Boeing can’t just go ahead and implement them anyway?

Yes, anyone with half a brain would understand the process. We are talking about RR and Frank, so common sense is not an option.

Explain the process to us all then, Mr Know It All. And don't use Google either.

Frank, you really think companies can do whatever they want because the government was shut down. So in your world, Tylenol could just add cyanide to their batch process and implement it into production because the government was shut down and the FDA couldn't sign off on it?

Clearly you don't.

You are the one who jumped in this thread to call me dumb, and you haven't posted anything of substance. Sticking to your inane Cubs posts and making fun of the Sox.

Trump has grounded the planes. Well, he did the right thing for once.

That's the headline this afternoon on Drudge.

I was simply pointing out that noted commie rag WSJ raised the issue. With it's "happy horseshit".

And Frank raised a couple of issues that i fear will strike next.

Maybe it’s because I half less than a half of a brain but I don’t think that’s what Frank said or implied at all. In fact I took it to be the opposite.

Protecting your own: Bob Saget was a guest on Kimmel last night but not one word mentioned to him about Lori Loughlin and the scandal. Kimmel cracked a couple of jokes in his monologue, then buried it the rest of the evening despite having Mr. Full House on as a guest.

I didn't want to pile on Juiced after how he embarrassed himself in the Machado threads but it was pretty cool of him to be so condescending to you while also being wrong about what you meant.
