I'm sure it will be frozen because it's only going to be like 16 degrees tomorrow.

Yep, it was pretty perfect because there was no wind, and when you stood in the sun, it was almost comfortable out there. Picked up so much that I felt it in my knees from the crouching. At least the dogs now aren't seeking a place to stand or a place to hide.

I have a lot of ice to chisel tonight after work before we are supposed to get 3-4 inches of snow tonight. I threw a bunch of salt on it over the weekend
and I think I have weakened it enough that it will come up pretty easy. At least an inch or two thick in spots, plus with the 30 degree temps it should
come apart enough that I can scoop shovel it onto the yard. I have tried to take ice out and colder temps and when I get into the house my hands are
like claws and it takes a while to get them to straighten out. I have water that gets tossed out of my basement and both onto my yard and the curb
from the sump so it is a battle I take on every year. Hasn't been bad this year but when all that rain came when I was out of town last week is when it
really pooled up bad.

Nice layer of sleet on the ground. For the most part, 355 is fairly clear.

Lots of accidents and spin outs on my commute in. The roads aren't too bad, but still be careful. People driving too slow is just as big a problem as people driving too fast. Stoplights being out and blinking red was more of an issue than anything. What a sloppy, messy morning.

Chiseled ice for 90 minutes last night and there was about 4 inches on the ground in Kenosha this morning. Schools in the county and out west are closed.
Probably get another 2-3 inches here during the day so I will have to clear the driveway again after work. Took an hour this morning and I didn't even
do a very good job. Good times.

Supposed to drive to Peoria this afternoon. I’m really hoping to get a call saying appointment is cancelled. Although if that happens I’ll probsbly have to do the evening trip instead. Lot of ice out there again, local schools closed again.

When you do go, be safe and stop by Lewistown to see Oak Hill Cemetery.

I realize that it would be ineffective on ice that thick but "the internet" recommends a mixture of 1/3 water and 2/3 rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle to rapidly remove ice from a windshield.

For the sidewalk, I put a healthy amount of salt on it Saturday, Sunday and again an hour before I started chiseling. That stuff came up relatively easy.
The stuff at the end of the driveway and curb was more than 2 inches thick. Due to the mild 30 degree temps the stuff on the edges was susceptible to
my chisel coming down on it and chopping out a few inches at a time in pretty good sized chunks. I got to a point where when I needed to hammer down
on it 4-5 times to get a chunk off I cut bait and let it go. Too much trama to my hands and wrists. I easily cleared out a couple hundred pounds of ice but only probably got half of it.

That is a good tip for your car windshield though.

I got about 5 inches of fluff up here. I could have moved it last night but it was still snowing so just decided to do it this morning. Only took about 45
minutes and I will tighten it up after work. More coming Wednesday. Enough already.....

Yeah, this stuff is not bad. Still have a nice ice covered curb at the end of the driveway.

There has to have been about an inch and a half of rain that has fallen in Melrose Park over the last few hours. Storms just lining up and training to dump rain one after another.

Crazy day... got in my car and out on the blue horizon, the clouds were rollin' in. The ground below was shaking, with the risin' wind. Saw video of a truck being overturned!

Shoutout to the weather today -- took in the first baseball game of the year. A littlte chilly but in the sun, it wasn't bad. I feel like wherever we may travel, whatever we go through, whatever time may take away, it cannot change the way we feel today. And today feels good.
