I think Pettine is a pretty good defensive coordinator--the Pack defense should be improved next year.

18th in overall defense ... not exactly a Tall task.

Careful, all these fancy pants stat nerd banks also show that HaHa was pretty good last year too, so that busts up your narrative.

PFF assigning HHCD a good rating is an indictment of PFF's rating system. The market has spoken and shown PFF's system to be faulty.

Don't tell your buddy FF. That is his bible.

At least you are slowly coming around that it’s useless clickbait. It was great watching you pretend it was definitive early last year.

There is too much HaHa negativity around here and too much praise for Amos.

They are not that different from each other. Decent football players.

One year deal for 3 million...not that big of a deal.

Boom or bust potential with HHCD.

Mediocre but consistent football talent with Amos.

Meh on both. At least the Bear didn’t get saddled with a multi year contract while it looks like the Packers did.

A vast improvement from Capers. Factor in the (lack of) talent.....

Agreed. There was nothing special about Amos as a player while he was here. He was a starter, that’s it.

Not sure where you’re getting that out of my post. Just pointing out one of the differences.

Saddled = negative connotation.

The lack of context for the contract given to Amos given the safety market in this thread is interesting. Amos is solid starter...and was paid solid starter money.

Not to mention it's being universally praised as one of the best FA deals so far this year.

The 5.5M difference in salaries helps pay to get rid of Parkey.

For that alone, it's a good move.

Yeah for 1 year and $3.5M it's not a big deal.

Maybe Jackson makes him better, and if not bench him and it doesn't hurt that much.

All 32 teams do. The contracts speak for themselves.

Doesn’t say much for this years free agent signings if this is true. Amos isn’t a special player by any means.

It’s the word that came to mind so it’s the one I went with.

Either way, HHCD is a vet safety who has performed well in the past signed to a meaningless 1 year deal. If he sucks out loud, you move on no big deal.

Using a mediocre player signing in Amos for a troll angle with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.. you’re a shrewd opponent FavreFan.

You can keep saying he's mediocre but I disagree, as do the people paid to evaluate each player.

That’s ok. The Bears still have their really good safety.
