How did u handle it?

Did u like taking orders from someone younger that had no clue what they're doin'?

Were u ok with it? Were u friends with them?

Did u ever put them in their place, like scold them, because you were wiser and older, even though they were ur superior?

Any interesting stories of conflicts with a younger superior? Maybe fucked a hot younger chick that was ur boss?

Many of my supervisors are younger than me, probably because I'm old. The newest crop are very close to my oldest son's age, that is starting to get a bit unusual. I have mellowed a lot, and find myself offering personal experiences/wisdom less and less. If they ask directly, I'll answer directly. in my industry, an engineering degree with five years experience can go directly to training to become a supervisor, with no operational experience, so an old-dog field operator like me can carry them, or drop them as well.

I do find myself forcing them to be the supervisor. Yes, I could make the decisions and direct the work flow better than they can, or at least more efficiently, but that's what they need to learn how to do. If it is adiaphera, or inconsequential, force them to make the call. If they really don't know, or if they want to do something that won't/can't work, step in and stop it early on, and don't try to show them up, let them redirect. I don't need the spotlight, let them have it, they have careers to develop. I am but pawn, in game of life. And on old one, at that.

I have a hard time working for anyone after running my own show for so long. I do work a little for my cousin in my semi-retirement but he's family, we get along well, I do whatever he asks and he doesn't feel the need to ever fuck with me. It's a good set-up.

The last time I really worked for someone was at a time when I had had some business reversals and I really had to hustle. A friend put me in touch with one of her friends who gave me a job managing her business. I'm grateful to this woman who gave me an opportunity when I really needed it, but man, she was difficult to work for. I also had a female business partner at one time and she had many similar traits when it came to doing business as this woman.

It's hard for me to explain it, but it wasn't like these women were just doing business to make money. They were trying to prove something. They wore the fact that they were female as a badge. And I realize that women of that age group had to kick down doors. So I'm not blaming them. But there was this contentiousness in every interaction when it was usually unnecessary.

I think it would be much easier to work for a Millennial woman. I have never done so, but my business dealings with them have always been what I would call normal. Their approach is just like a guy's. They don't have the need to show you that they are "Women in Charge".

I wouldn't want to work for a Millennial dude. They're generally douchebags.

The woman I worked for Jorr was older not younger. I had the opposite experience. I enjoyed it as she seemed to not have her own ego in the way or view men working for her as potential threats.

One of my best female friends and peer for the last 3 years just got promoted to be my boss about a month ago. She and I are roughly the same age, which is the first time I've had a boss who isn't at least ten years my elder. I thought it might be weird, but it isn't. We know each other well, and we both know not to make it a bigger deal than it is. I think it's more of a struggle for her than for me. She deserved every bit of the promotion, which makes it easier. If it was some no-talent hack, it'd be different.

I worked for a younger woman who was hot as hell. The bigger the corporates that visited, the more buttons she undid on her blouse.

She married a man who was a co-worker, and when they got married he took her last name. If you work until retirement age you'll eventually work for someone younger than you. I have worked for younger,older, the same age , different sexes , race , religion and the key to working some 40 years at my job I never worked for anyone that was smarter than I was

I worked for a facility manager who wasn't even born yet when most of us started there.

His main task from corporate direction was to "thin the herd".

The only thing he literally did, was to fire half of the employees in each department.
