@312: I love (or used to love) the Demons. Went to grad school at UIC, and tried to like them, but they couldn't get anything going.

Purdue and Illinois are about the same in basketball. Purdue's not better.

No question about it, it's just a significantly better program

Purdue's had a lot of shitty seasons. Painter has had shitty ones himself--just as many as any Illini counterpart.

Purdue has Rick Mount and John Wooden. But look at the records for Illinois and Purdue ....one program isn't better than the other historically.

I would like to hear more about this comparison.

I’ve made it clear I think the NBA is far superior to college and I’ve also made it clear I think March Madness this particular year is pretty boring. And even still I think this is an all time bad take. Just admit you don’t like sports and like being miserable. It’s easier.

Was thinking of dropping this in the sports argument thread but it’s so recent I’ll put it here.

Ryan Cline’s game is one of the more memorable single game performances recently right? I feel like I’ll remember it a few years from now. My 2 buddies are saying no it was just a good night and not memorable. Am I the crazy one here?

A guy built like him who can jump high enough to literally get his entire head over the rim should rightfully be celebrated. Combine that with his underrated basketball IQ and his clear passion to win and you have a can’t miss prospect outside of injury. I cannot fucking wait to watch him in the NBA.
