Drop........Read the post. I'm essentially pointing out the BS thats spewed about racism and what not. I can give a fuck what you or anyone puts on the internet. But when you say racist things and put racist things on your web page, it should be called out. If I were his boss, I would have shown him the door. He obviously agreed. he pulled the song immediately. I guess keeping his jobn was more important than his cool song interests.

So Bite me!

What's up fellas? This will probably be one of (if not the only) the very few posts I make on the message board. A few things I should probably address. Starting with my infamous "nigga" song that was pointed out. Yes I listen to songs and watch movies with the word in it. Hell I use I've used the word before and in that I'm not proud, but it is what it is. Moving on; I appreciate all the constructive criticism I've received on this board because truth be told you guys and gals are the people who I talk to on a daily basis whether it be behind the scenes or while I'm hosting. As for some of the more mean spirited stuff with nothing but venom and no insight; there is very little I can do about that. I also want to touch on the post Matt made the other day when the topic of my song came up. What he wrote was not what I told him. I dont regret anything that small in importance. I also want to address the topic that seems to come up every time the younger guys at the score are mentioned (especially matt and I). I don't run from or deny the fact that Dan and Terry's show has had a huge impact on what I do. I will also add the likes of Dan McNeil and Dan Jiggetts and other radio vets with whom I have worked with whether it be producing interning or hosting with. All these guys have shown me the way to do things and not to do things. I have incorporated philosophies from these guys and made sure I stayed true to myself. Right now I'm not following my dream, I'm chasing it; and with time I believe my potential will be realized. You guys are interesting, funny and smart; hopefully I'll keep you entertained and informed whether behind the mic or behind the board. I have to be myself and while far from perfect, I know that I've come a long way and have a lot longer to go. I've been a caller/listener/employee of this station since it's inception so I think I have a decent grasp on what people want to hear. I don't always give you what you want to hear but best believe it's not contrived and it comes from the heart. I've never begged or kissed ass to get air time and I know I can do this job. I've probably said too much but I've long felt that you guys should know that I do read and take into account about 80% of what you the radio fan has to say.

By the way does my Otis Redding song piss you off (sorry I had to do it) :)

Keep doing what you do; I'll be reading and hopefully you guys will be listening.

Take it light
-Jason Goff

p.s. the most improved vote meant a lot to me to those of you who thought so.

Hit the Fritzy theme song!!!!!! (as I walk off into the fog like Bogart)

Love ya

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that nobody at the score told me to pull the song. It wasn't hot anymore and I switched it up. The music I listen to is just a small part of who I am. Dig a little deeper. I dare anyone at the station who isn't hiding behind message board aliases to find someone to say a something about me being a racist or treating anyone of a different color unfairly. By the way Andy Garcia is and was one of my closest friends at the station. I gave him rides to our weekday open gym basketball games and truly respect him and what he does. I come from foreign parents and know what it is to struggle and not blame everything on the "white man" . Do for self and things will happen regardless of color. Hopefully this was a little insight on how I go about things. Talk with you later peeps.

We finally got Goff!!!!!

That was well said Jason.

I never thought you were a racist. I just thought that since you play the "Pappy song" for the white callers it was kind of weird that you made the Garcia comment. You would have played the "Pappy song" if a white caller said that. We all slip up. I never had a problem with your myspace song. That's all.

Really good stuff Jason, appreciate the response.

In all honesty, I dont give a shit about this thread and didnt click on it untill now because of the title. I dont care about Goff's myspace but once it reached a couple pages and I saw Goff responding, I got curious. The only comment that interested/annoyed me was this...

suckers playground wrote:

I really hate this attitude. Im not racist at all, and dont feel the need to justify why Im NOT(Those kinda people often are). But I hate people who think like this. I treat this the same way I treat sexist issues, I am all in favor of equality. I will not bitch about a black person making a joke preying on stereotypes of white people, but I expect in return black people will take the equally humurous approach. I think its ridiculous and frankly a setback in race relations that its considered OK by both races in general that black people can say whatever they want with no social stigmas, but if a white person makes a joke about black people and fried chicken Jesse and Al will call for their heads. Also the slavery thing doesnt apply, and with each passing year the segregation/prejudice thing isnt as prevelant as it was the year before. I think its an insult to those who went through the inhumane conditions of slavery that some people try to justify today's 20 year old's actions/speech with the atrociousness of slavery that went on 150 years ago.

I think Beardown should start a Say Something Nice About Horny thread.

By the way, Jason, why did they kill Drinky and Horny as the name of the show you guys used to do?

Actually these are my first posts in all honesty. Don't know who "J.G.G." is but I wouldn't have done this without attaching my name to it. I was always against posting anything on this board because I didn't see how it could help more than hurt. Trust me on this one.

I have a serious question for Goff. Did you really go out on dates with winners of Grandma Trivia? If so, any funny stories?

I find it funny that the word "gay" isn't allowed on this board but the word "nigga" is. You don't know much about me so I'm not gonna get into this slapfight with you; but I will point out how it seems as if you get off by saying the "n" word. You're a moron and I said nothng about the insignifigance of this board I just stated that I stayed away because I knew I would get into pointless arguments like this one. You don't run anything except your mouth. You damn sure dont control anything. Why is my myspace page such an issue. Do you patrol the internet looking for other delightful treats my friend? Have a good tiime thinking that you're changing the way a producer for a sports radio talk show lives his life.

Hey fellas! How are the rest of you doing?

Well Jason, I've been into it with Belvidere before so it's no surprise. I've programmed myself to ignore his posts. Go back and search for his thoughts on the NBA and all the "thugs".

I guess you have a better understanding why ball players hate the media Goff. Now you know why some won't come on B&B.

Like I said, I don't care about your myspace Goff. I do see the other side. You give that myspace out on your shows on the Score. So that site does represent the station. I could see why that could be a problem. It goes beyond just representing you once you advertise it on your Score show. You invite the station's listeners to go there.

Kids could be listening to you and go there. Or just people who don't want to hear that word.

Once again, I don't care, but I do see the other side.

I could see why the Score/CBS would care in this PC world of ours.

I understand as well Beardown. I appreciate both sides of the issue. I gotta be myself as well. I'm not perfect but I do take into consideration what some people think. I know I'm not gonna win this one so I'll agree to disagree on the whole music thing.

Thanks once again.

Doin good Goff, thanks for asking. Would you mind asking Bernstein just what in the hell he was thinking when he said Flip was a good coach and credited him for the development of Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince? If you go to the NBA section, you'll notice I'm a HUGE hoops fan, and its the primary reason I listen to B&B over MJH during the Spring, because B&B clearly know alot more about hoops than B&B. But this comment by Bernstein was absolutely absurd. Not only is Flip horrible as a coach and one of the most disrespected coaches in the NBA by his players, but Billups was clearly as good as he'll get by the time he got there, a credit to Larry Brown, IMO. And Prince improved under Flip, but not significantly, and that is more due to him only having 3 full seasons under his belt by the time Flip took over and most likely was gonna improve anyway. Again, I attribute his significant development to Larry Brown. Flip did nothing for the Pistons. He's routinely outcoached anytime the Playoffs come around. Can you ask Dan to explain this assinine opinion?

This message board stuff has to suck for you Goff.

It's a lot easier to be a talk show host.

You can just hang up on us when you get the last word. You guys always win on the radio.

I think Flip is a decent coach and the growth that young players have shown under him is substantial. If you remember correctly the reason that he and Ben Wallace had the falling out because he brought the thought process that the next basket was more important than the next stop or defensive possession. Of the three coaches available (Johnson, Collins, and Saunders) I think Saunders is the best. The Bulls are the laughing stock of the league right now because of how they are handling this coaching situation. I also think that John Paxson is trying to make his eventual exit as GM as easy as possible and maybe thinking about that a little more than he should. If you look at a guy like Doug Collins he would be easily slide into a GM position and the Notre Dame Athletic Director rumors don't make it look any better for him. And you're right we do basketball better than anyone in this city in my opinion.
