Turned on the game the other day. Christ, this ass hole. I've hated him since I was a little boy.

But the media in this town says he's great. And I don't get it. He's not. And he's a dick.

Hawk got shit from our media. But for some reason our stupid media says Stone is the best.

I didn't realize that Hawk's departure would lead to a bush league Schaumburg Flyers broadcast.

Oh well, another nail in the coffin of a doomed franchise.

Benetti is fine. Sometimes he pushes for a joke too hard, but in terms of flat calling the game he's good.

benetti was so terrible on Mac and Speigs last week... he made "jokes" which only he thought were funny... just awful. he made len kasper's 15 weekly WSCR hits seem interesting

I loved when Stone was on the score regularly as a guest. He offered incredible insight and analysis of the game, and great stories from his playing days. Benetti & Stone do a great job on the broadcast. I'm in the minority I guess, that I like Farmio & DJ too.

Stone is fantastic. It's too bad that Beardown is too slow witted to recognize it.

These baseball tandems are pretty bad across the league. I hate the KC guys and Cleveland's are pretty boring. No style and no excitement. Its all canned or programmed.

Stone is one of the smartest broadcasters I've ever listened to, and Benetti calls a good game. However, you put the two of them together and you're left with the impression of arrogance and smugness.

I like Len and JD but little too much bowing to the sabermetrics gods. Little heavy on the trajectory and velo bulshit .

This is another myth. That the MEDIA promotes him. Just because they say nothing bad about him, doesnt mean they are raving about him.

In 34 years of following baseball, most of those including Stone, I rarely if ever heard the media say anything about Stone, good or bad. With one exception: Jay Mariotti, who said nothing of his broadcast skills, but instead congratulated him for escaping from the Cubs. In fact, it was at that time that the media actually roasted Stone for his actions which led to his departure.

If u think he is well liked, it's because the fans flat out like him. That's not media.

I like Stone cuz I like Stone. NOT cuz the media promoted him and shit.
