I can’t really blame Renteria for putting faith in Jace Fry. His 12.27 K/9 was top 15 in the majors last season amongst relievers with 50 or more IP. He is an integral member of the bullpen.

Covey is a bit of a mystery, but theoretically, he should be a decent 4th or 5th guy.

Frare put up a 0.62 ERA in 30 games last year for the Yankees in Double A, and when he got to the White Sox, he posted a 0.71 ERA in 11 games in Triple A.

All three failed in spectacular fashion yesterday, but I don’t blame Renteria.

They are off Friday too. Its in case a team's home opener gets rained/snowed out, they can do it the following day. Its weird, but I get it.

It's weird. It's to make sure teams have a home opener that's not canceled by weather. To me it would make more sense to not schedule so many games in cold weather markets in March and early April. Tampa Bay comes to Chicago next week. What sense does that make?

Didn't they sign a couple of legit relief pitchers in the off season? Where were they? I do blame Renteria because they NEEDED to WIN that game. For a young team to win a game like that gives them a big boost and you turn the game over to professional pitchers, not those guys. They sucked last year when they were in a still suck.

Wasting that nice comeback after the gem that their guy pitched was horrible to see. Especially for a young team.
