I guess. Got to move on to someone else after Minnesota bombed spectacularly.

Brad Stephen's must have come up with a helluva game plan.

23 and 14 isn't piss poor either. Spin is a motherfucker.

In a few months you'll be telling everyone how you "knew it all along".

Philly has a Boston problem. I think they can still beat them in a playoff series but the Celtics are a terrible matchup for them.

I think Philly's biggest problem is at the guard spot. Boston exploits the hell out of Redick and McConnell

Embiid has to stop going for Horford's pump fakes too. He gets him up in the air with pump fakes every time.

I think with the new additions they handle Boston but until they actually do it no one can know for sure.

They have to start beating some of the better teams in the East too. Their record against the top 4 is abysmal.

With the team they have constructed there can't be any excuses if they don't make it.

Other than injury of course.

Kyrie is gonna be a big problem for Philly. Horford also plays Embiid better than anyone else in the league. Nobody can matchup physically with Embiid but Horford’s basketball IQ is off the charts and he makes Embiid work harder on both ends than usual. And then the C’s have an army of wings to throw at Philly.

I think Boston matches up terribly with Milwaukee though. Lopez and Mirotic are gonna keep Horford out of the lane and as good as Tatum and Brown are they can’t check Giannis. Bledsoe is also a guy who can make things tough on Kyrie possibly.

If I were a Philly fan I would be worried if they were on the same side of the bracket as Boston and thrilled if they weren’t.

I would suggest that you not overlook Minnesota in the West either but it appears that you and just about everyone else on here already has

This was actually the part of the show on which they were supposed to be making their great push. Or so I was lead to believe.

More MVP buzz for my guy. Embiid barely makes the list towards the end of the article.

Quote:
Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets

The Case For: Four seasons ago, the Nuggets were a 30-win team searching for something to build around and believe in. Now, they’re fighting the Warriors for the top spot out West thanks in large part to the arrival and development of Jokic, the Sentinel-sized straw that stirs the drink.

Jokic is a ramped-up remix of the archetypal “big man who can pass”—a clean-shaven, Serbian Walton; the New Adventures of Old Arvydas. Everything the Nuggets’ no. 3 offense does runs through him, and everything they are flows from his unselfishness; everybody sprints out on the break, cuts hard from the weak side, and stays sharp when running through an action, because if you’re open, Jokic will find you, and if you’re not but could be, he’ll throw you into an open look. And with all due respect to his playmaking predecessors, no Goliath has ever distributed the ball quite like Jokic; this season, Jokic has assisted on on 38.4 percent of his teammates’ baskets, by far the highest rate by a center in NBA history.

It took some convincing, but the pass-first-second-and-third big man has also accepted that calling his own number helps his teammates, too. Jokic is shooting more from the field and the foul line, yet has remained one of the most efficient high-usage players in the league. Increased aggression has also opened up his playmaking even further, resulting in some eye-popping numbers: Jokic is on pace to join Wilt, Oscar, and Russ as just the fourth player ever to average more than 20 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists per game.

No contender has had to deal with more injuries this season than the Nuggets, who have lost starters Paul Millsap, Gary Harris, and Will Barton to the injury list for extended stretches, who finally got free-agent addition Isaiah Thomas on the court this week, and who have still yet to see first-round draft pick Michael Porter Jr. in live action. And yet, they’re 39-18, with their best shot at making it out of the opening round of the playoffs in a decade, because that’s where Jokic has put them.

And at the end of the year Embiid will have more votes and you will be saying "at the time I said it" again. Embiid hands down will have more votes. Sekou Smith, a guy whose opinion is much more respected (and likely a guy with an actual vote) had Embiid top 5 last week.

Won’t be any At The Time comments. The bet was clear that it’s what we expected the final voting to be.

Damn FF. Seems to reference a lot of things that i outlined earlier in the year. MPG, Defense, PPG,. There is not way he will have more votes than Embiid with these pedestrian numbers.

The Case Against: Jokic has the lowest scoring average of the elite options, which could hurt his curb appeal. (Among the top tier of candidates, though, only Harden creates more points via assist.) He also logs at least a couple fewer minutes per game than the other front-runners—the more you play, the larger the impact you make—and lags behind them in true shooting percentage. And he might get dinged for Denver’s drop back to the middle of the pack in defensive efficiency after a strong start to the season; the Nuggets allow three more points-per-100 with Jokic in the middle, and he ranks 35th in opponents’ field goal percentage allowed at the rim among 45 bigs to defend at least four restricted-area attempts per game.

Those sorts of things might seem like splitting hairs, given that he’s is the focal point for Denver’s surge this season. But this is the kind of conversation in which those hairs get split. A top-five finish feels more likely for Jokic than top-three or higher.

What happened to the much improved defense that he was alleged to have been playing recently? Those figures sure seem to debunk that. You also have been criticizing Embiid's defense when anyone watching the game can surely see that he is good at it. Team much better with him out there than when he isn't. Eyetest told me that. Now the numbers confirm it. You have been wrong "every step" of the way. Got to get better.

I never called him a buster. I never had him ranked higher than Embiid. He is a good player. I wouldn't put him top 15 or 20 in the league. Being No 5 in MVP doesn't much effect that either. Isaiah Thomas finished 5th two years ago.

Jokic will be assessed based on what he does going forward. Embiid has been an elite player from the moment he first suited up. Jokic hasn't. Your willingness to constantly lie about his defensive prowess renders your overall opinion of him less valid.

You had him good defensively even when it was obvious that he wasn't. Now you contradict your earlier opinion by continuously talking about how he is "much improved".

No it isn't. Jokic can still get hurt and I'm sure my guy was comfortably ahead anyway.

A) Wasn't the game last Thursday?

B) 16-8-1 is more dominating than 16-13-7?

So much for the "improved" defense of the Joker. They are still doing offense/defense substitutions with him after 4 seasons in the league.

Triple double in a game 7. Played the entire 4th Q. Memorable performance.
