Last 4 years had to have been cool. Some special memories. I don’t hate my Cub fan brothers so I hope you guys don’t do like Jerry’s Sox did and suck balls for the next decade. I have confidence you’ll rebound a lot quicker. Must be nice to have an owner who isn’t a cheap asshole motherfucker.

Gotta give em a grace period though. Don’t IMU us. You get to resume bitching about them around 2022 or so.

They can fix things but the first thing that needs fixing is Theo and by fixing I mean firing him. The Ricketts can also STFU about all the money he blew though because they will donate 2x Heywards contract to political campaigns next year.

Let it all out brother. Frank, Dolphin, and I are here for you. As an objective fan I expect Rick will also be able to lend a sympathetic ear.

If they are going to miss the playoffs this is the way to do it....Suck the whole year....trade off anything you can....and get a high draft pick.

There’s a lot to trade off. If they go down that road don’t kid yourself that they will suck “the whole year”. It won’t be resolved that quickly.

Worse signing duo: Adrian Gonzalez & Carl Crawford or Jason Heyward and Yu Darvish?

(Or well technically wasn't Adrian Gonzalez a trade that netted Rizzo for the Padres, who eventually realized that sometimes you just gotta have Andrew Cashner? Either way, which Albatrossian Duo was worse?)

I feel like it’s fair to admit now the Schwarbwr plexiglass thing was very worthy of mocking. You got the ultimate prize. For the first time in everyone’s lifetime. In one of the most memorable (read: lucky) ways possible. Once you’re a championship caliber fanbase you start to realize how minor league-ish stunts like that are.

Plus aren't baseball drafts generally way more than the top 10-15 picks? Obviously there's something to be said for hitting on a premium draft pick, but still I reckon organizational depth is built up through rounds 1-20 as opposed to picks 1-20.

Not to mention that Baseball is a game where often one team's trash can be another team's treasure, so you just gotta get better at scouting and player development as opposed to having the same ppl who can't draft/develop pitching get to pick a few places higher.

All very good points. Maybe David Bote is the savior.

I have confidence you’ll do better over the next 100. I do not have a similar confidence level in my Sox.

You know what makes this a lot easier? Joe Ricketts's emails, Todd Ricketts running the dipshit president's 2020 fundraising, and the Cubs being on the Sinclair network in the future. Fuck 'em!

Slow your roll Sox fans. Try not to blow your load too early. It's a long season.

Of course, maybe getting it all out now is best.

It was more than cool. After spending about 13 years worrying that they'd literally never win one in my lifetime, the WS win was everything.

I want them to do better but Id be lying if I said I wasnt already kind of satisfied.

This is why the Cubs don't have to worry about Maddon's 2017 and on retirement tour and passing on Bryce Harper, the top free agent that offseason and one who wanted to come to your organization and you said 'no thank you.'

Because the fans are now 'satisfied' and you're able to focus 100% on profits and 0% on the baseball product. The Cubs haven't focused on improving the quality of baseball side of things since 2015, in fact.

I could lie and say Im not satisfied but I dont think it would help.

Dont blame the fans, blame the people that went 108 years without winning. That's what made it so satisfying.

Being pathetic and not winning a championship for a century does not make a championship worth more. Those 108 years still exist. Each championship is worth the same amount to each team. Any one of the Yankees' championships is just as important as the Cubs' 2016 trophy. We aren't special fans. The Cubs aren't a special organization.

We should demand continued efforts to win more championships. Immediately.
