Being pathetic and not winning a championship for a century does not make a championship worth more.

But it does, whether it should or not, it absolutely does.

Any one of the Yankees' championships is just as important as the Cubs' 2016 trophy.

Definitely not. Ask a Yankee fan if they are all as special as the first.

I understand what you're saying. In a perfect world, you'd be correct. But it's not a perfect world.

I still expect them to do everything possible to win more championships. But to pretend like it's the same as before 2016 is just being dishonest.

The Cubs were 'World Champions' for one year, just like every other team. After they lost to the Dodgers in the 2017 NLCS, they were the same as 28 other teams. A team that wishes they were where the 2017 Astros were. Are you rooting for the 2016 Cubs when you were watching the game last night? That chapter is closed. If you saw Tyler Chatwood give up the ringing double and thought about 2016 at all...you are a reason teams can get away with decades of futility.

You sound like a guy that still has photos of his first lay in his phone and brings them up once a week.

If it took me over 100 years to get the lay. I would frame that shit and wrap my crossover vehicle in it and drive it all over the south side of Chicago with a set of chrome 24"'s and Go Cubs Go blasting out the bass.

You sound like a guy who says weird things because Ive never even heard of that.

But if you want to blame me for the Cubs failures post 2016, I am ok with that.

Must have been cool. The dream seems dead now.
