Hawks moved up to the third pick in the lottery last night.

Stop talking hockey!

Dach looks like the right move. He's only 30th in scoring in the Dub, but from poking around it seems like everyone ahead of him is an overager, already drafted, or both.

It's important that whoever they draft is ready to jump in right away. Boqvist needs to be ready, too. You can't draft in the top ten two years in a row and not have both guys on the roster.

Not likely, but it is possible Hughes Kappo fall to 3...crazy things tend to happen in the NHL draft!

Yeah, it's technically possible. This draft reminds me of the 2017 one, where the Devils kind of surprised a lot of people taking Hischier at 1 instead of Nolan Patrick. But if the Devils don't take Hughes, the Rags will for sure -- they love American college kids. I'd be very surprised if the Hawks had either one of the big two available at #3.

I'll let you know who I want after the U18 tournament. in another week or so. I am really warming up to Byram and all the Doughty comps. If he can be your stud 1st pairing dman with Boqvist then there's your pick. Dmen are so hard to find and so valuable. If Byram is worthy of the #3 pick, the Hawks would have the best prospect blueline in the game. You can always trade a dman if you have too many. Just imagine a blueline of Byram and Boqvist for 10 years! Yes please. You can find forwards a lot easier than dmen.

I'm in intrigued by Turcotte. Didn't realize he was a local kid on the mission for a few years. The only one I absolutely want nothing to do with is Cozens.

Wings, sure. It is difficult for a fellow Blackhawks fan to tell me you can find Centers easily.

Dach has size, relatively good speed, great shooting, vision, and is said to be down right fantastic on the defensive end. I don't claim to be an expert, but he should be right up there when talking about Hughes and Kakko.

They just traded for Strome who was the #3 pick in the draft a couple years ago. They also traded for Anisimov who was supposed to be the Hawks #2 center for this run. Hell, one could argue that the Hawks traded a #2 center in Danault. Centers are definitely more valuable than wings but I give the edge to dmen if all things are equal.

I don’t know which player is better but ass-kicking, 25-minutes-a-night #1 dmen rarely ever become available and if you can get one, do it. The Hawks have several finesse dmen. They need a bigger, left-handed dman to complete their future blue line. But at the end of the day, I trust Bowman and Kelley to get it right.

I'm the biggest Anisimov fan in the world. I quickly bought a #15 Hawks sweater. But I'd like a bit better than he ended up being with the Hawks so far.

We'll see about Strome.

Anisimov was great the first couple of seasons with the Hawks, especially when they desperately needed a net presence. Then again, he had Panarin and Kane on his line. Once Panarin was gone, he dropped off.

Looks like the Hawk got that pick right.
