It has always felt to me more like a stunt a Single-A team would do on H2G2 Night. First 42 fans through the gates get a free bobbledolphin.

One idea might be to always schedule Dodgers@Mets for today and have only those two teams do it. But like I've said before, baseball is getting out of control with all these promotional uniforms. Things like this or making the Yankees wear olive drab to Support The Troops is so crass.

They should keep the tradition going. If there is a Jackie Robinson society/committee, have them nominate a player from every team that best embodies what Robinson meant to society. The selected player gets to wear 42 on that day.
