It's made fairly clear they don't offer ketchup as one or their 4 condiments. Do you do this at Chinese restaurants?

This was before we moved up, actually. In Wisconsin we usually had Sun Drop.


I hated cola for most of my life because my exposure to it was generally either Diet Rite or Caffeine-Free Diet Coke, which I maintain makes your teeth feel funny in a way other sodas do not. But regular Coke on a hot day is nice every once in a while. I don't really drink soda much anymore but that's an exception to make now and then.

i thought pepe's was the only place that still serves it.... which i just assumed was the case because everything inside your typical pepe's resturant is still the same as it was 20 years ago

When El Famous Burrito was still open in Vernon Hills, they had it. And I want to say that is the cola in the fountain gun at Lakes Bowl in Round Lake.

the price to lease equipment and syrup for RC brand soda's a pretty drastic discount over coke or pepsi.

I mean....at what point do you expect to learn that Gene & Jude's won't put ketchup on the hot dog as you order it, and you will have to do it yourself?

Yeah, I'm sure that will happen. As Sam said, their menu has been pretty much the same for sixty years. Its kind of their shtick that they don't put ketchup on their hot dogs.

yeah i know...its basically the reason i ask. TS is right, i'm being an asshat. we go because its really good (with ketchup) but really its a hot dog not a porterhouse. Chicago's ridiculous stand against ketchup i find humorous is all. we don't put ketchup on our hot dogs! *puts cut up tomatoes on hot dog*

i'm also a dad and i feel its my civic duty to embarass my children whenever possible. hence the fanny pack when we are sight seeing.

and ed's is terrible food so we don't eat there but as rude as they are i can still get ketchup.
