No the new Portillos here in Davenport. Sorry if I did not explain it

they are looking for 150 employees. and made like a 2nd call for interviews.

I read 250
from Dwyer and Michaels the hiring guy was on this morning

The Portillo's in Davenport is looking to open soon, but before they open they're going to need some employees to help run the operations.
We had Jeff Deppe, the Director of New Restaurant Openings, in this morning to discuss their new location in Davenport, and he was telling us that they don't yet have an official opening date but are looking to open at the beginning of June. In the meantime, the city is building a new turn lane and expansion on 53rd St.

They're looking to hire 150-200 people for Crew Chiefs, Cooks, Cashiers, and Prep Cooks. You can apply here, and training will begin May 6th.

No SuperDawg really fucking sucks, $6.40 for a dog and fries... was at a family wedding in Vernon Hills and it was like 3-4 hours before the reception and everyone was starving, I was going to be "the man" and pick up dogs for like 8 people back at the hotel, cost me over $60 after tax for that overrated shit.

You should have just called Barraco's and got two cheese pizzas and two salads- which may or may not have been delivered- with your sixty bucks.

To be honest, from my experience, lunch rush isn't that bad, dinner rush, esp on Friday/Sat nights is worse. They get you in and out fast as hell. No b.s from Customers with special orders like faggy no gluten shit. Cash only.

Yeah, I feel comfortable that I'm as right as ever, considering the way something as insignificant as phrasing was focused on so quickly.

Maybe I should bow out and respect the opinions of those that look to have eaten thousands more hot dogs than I have.

I'm with IMU on this one. Hot dogs are definitely not all the same. Even if they use Vienna there are various types and sizes of Vienna dogs. Portillo's is one of the few places that uses a natural casing. Then there are places like Byron's that add extra toppings.

It's not that easy to find a good hot dog these days. I can't think of many near my house. I guess Wolfy's is the closest place. My office is near your house, shakes. Where do you go for a dog? J's Corner isn't bad I guess.

You shouldn't have to drive 50 miles for a Gene and Jude's, or Jimmy's-style hot dog. Someplace by you has to have some approximation of it. The thing is they are not cranking them out at the same clip. All gyros is the same, too, as bigfan was fond of pointing out.

Why the fuck is Portillo's not sending out a team of people from the Chicago area stores to get it up and running properly?

i think there are definitly a lot of hot dog styles in Chicago but I would guess the lion share of hot dog places are using vienna products...dogs, peppers, relish, etc etc so most of it is pretty much the same thing. same with the s.rosen buns. There are obvious variations here and there but i would guess that pizza is much more variable in nature. There may be a like supplier of toppings but the doughs from place to place seem to be the big difference.

Their drive thru is a machine at Portillos.. Try the "I'm not pulling up" routine there and they will slash your tires.

Ate at In and Out in Las Vegas last time I was there. It was fine. Nothing to go out of my way for. Felt the same about Whataburger when I was in Texas a few years ago.

I highly recommend Mean Weiner in Highwood. Everything is very good. Love their al pastor Tacos. Excellent dogs.

I really like In-N-Out. There's something about their cheese, I tried a double without cheese once and was far less impressed. Skip the fries, get a milkshake.

Whataburger is what Burger King would be if it was actually good. I have friends who swear by it. I'll eat it, but I won't drive out of my way for it and I'm going to stop at a taco/tex-mex place first.

In the Southeast there's Cookout. It's a good drive-thru burger, charcoal broiled. I prefer their double-double style burger over their thicker burger. Bonus for having both steak sauce and grilled onions.

Gene and Judes is good but I'm lucky enough to have a place by me that serves a just as good depression dog.

Portillo's is solid. Superdawg sucks.
