We’ll settle up on the $50 or $150 after the MVP votes are announced. Still like my chances of reducing that to $50

Only because Embiid has been injured. Otherwise I win that one going away. As it stands now it's still a strong push for me. Same happens with Irving last year.

As far as Bums go OKC has two of the top ten guys in the league. I will always take my chances with that.

Irving never had a chance. I won that one going away. And yeah, Embiid sort of has an injury history if you hadn’t noticed. I took that into account when making the bet but even if he stayed healthy he wasn’t gonna surpass Jokic for MVP this year. Wins matter for that award.

There is no one other than you that thinks he is better than Embiid and as far as wins go I'm fairly certain that their win percentage is higher with Embiid.

How is this. Over the last 3 seasons S.A., Minnesota, Utah, and now Denver have been declared to be his teams. Not one (except S.A. tough choice) of them has made much noise in the playoffs.

He was sure about the Lakers and they bombed. So was everyone else. Now they are all conspicuously silent though we know what would have occurred if the opposite would have been the case.

Their win % is worse than denver’s is with Jokic. Without all star teammates for Jokic. We’ll see who wins it, no use debating it since we strongly disagree and already bet money on it

There was money involved.

Right but betting on a team isn’t the same as rooting for them. The Lakers were +400 to miss the playoffs when I made that bet with ltg. I just thought it was easy money. Props to him for being right.

For the record I agree...I was just responding to Bagels question as to your level of interest.

Denver's team is solid and the better teammates that Philly has doesn't jive as much considering that the lineup hasn't played all that much together.

Denver looks like they will get bounced in the first round and your so called best center isn't really separating himself all that much either.

I say that as a guy that likes him by the way. No way is he in Embiid's class as a player however

Spurs are better than the Nets so might not wanna talk that shit just yet.

They’re also better than OKC. Not as “talented” but a better basketball team. It’s why they’re still my Spurs.

I’ll admit I’m glad MVP votes were in before the postseason started

Embiid is decidedly better. Jokic is only better at one aspect of basketball. That qualifies as a large amount difference in my book.

It’s easy to clown people when you lie like a rug. I’ve never declared Minnesota or Denver my teams. I may have drunkenly did that with Utah but don’t believe I ever did. I’m a flirt but I’ve never cheated on my side chick San Antonio.

I’ll disagree with Bagels on this series. SA is going to the WCF this year. They’ll have no business being there but they’ll be there.

Their 3 point percentage is really close.

Embiid is a better scorer, rebounder, shot blocker, defender. He is also bigger and more athletic.

Denver's supporting cast isn't garbage either. They have a solid starting 5. They also have a solid bench and Malone is a better coach than Brett Brown.

Again no one thinks Jokic is better. No one other than FF.

Now only S.A was his team. Then I will bump stuff only to get crickets.

He was on Minnesota's bandwagon too. Especially after they acquired Butler. He tries to kick cans down the road in the hope that he can change the narrative later. A board staple in fact.

Ltg, you seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding between the difference of “I’m a fan of this team” and “I think this team is good”. Please resolve that before embarrassing yourself and boring the rest of the board bumping old ass posts. Thanks in advance.

Let me simply say this. This is how much of a liar you are. You repeatedly said that you never have said that Fox isn't shit. You called me a liar on it. I found 2 instances easily where you said that the guy "sucked". We can debate semantics (I'm not) but the implications were clear.

When I say that a team is your team I'm not saying that you think they will win the championship. That isn't what I mean by "your team". You obviously pump these teams to be better than they are or ever will be.

You had Minnesota as a future contender only to now look stupid. 50 game winners too. Never happened. You touted Denver as a Conference finalist earlier this year only to now be backtracking as they appear to be on the ropes.

Oh and then there was Utah and future "MVP" candidate Donovan Mitchell. He didn't even make the damn All Star team.

Before you go off calling everyone that disagrees with "stupid" or their thoughts stupid I want you to remember all of the "stupid" shit that you say.

Your recollections seem to be extremely selective where that stuff is concerned.

Yea this is the issue
Doesn’t everyone have some kind of rooting interest in every series if you’re a general NBA fan, just at the basic level of “I subjectively like this team more than that team” ?

Fox sucked his rookie year. That’s when I said he sucked. When he improved this year I said he improved a lot immediately and never retracted it. I have no interest in these multi paragraph arguments going back years on opinions ltg. Learn some brevity and your posts would be easier to respond to. The rest of everything I’ve said stands.

Well my rooting interest is with OKC. If they lose fine. It isn't an individual series thing. He picks these teams to make a lot of noise and they get bounced and then he pretends that they he never cared for them.

That's fine but don't call others stupid or their thoughts stupid simply because they disagree.

Fair enough
I do want OKC to win just bc they do have a chance to advance, if Portland wins they’re just losing next round

When’s the last time I called you stupid? You’re taking offense from posts I made years ago. Let it go man.

I never once said I didn’t care for the Jazz after they got bounced by Houston after bouncing your Thunder. I still like the team and think they are going to be good for awhile and Mitchell will be great. Houston is a terrible matchup for them though.

You’re just too sensitive man. Just talk about basketball. It’s been a long time since I’ve called any of your opinions dumb or asinine or anything like that.

You lied about ever saying that he sucked. You never corrected it (even when 312 pushed you on it) and proceeded to act as if you never said it when he turned out ok.

I don't care for them either. It's why (and I suspect) many others avoid this section these days. Most of the guys posting are only concerned with playing silly gotcha games. I don't care for that.

I'm done with it actually. I give my opinion and a person can agree or disagree.

All of the "you're wrong, you're wrong) na na na is for the birds.

Most of the guys playing that game are the ones that are mostly wrong about everything. In the end none of it means anything as none of us get paid for our thoughts.

I just prefer to discuss things with guys that aren't interested in being right all the time.

I mostly have stepped away from it and will continue to do the same in the future. It works for me.

I said he sucked his rookie year and that’s because he sucked his rookie year. There’s nothing really to be embarrassed about there imo. Stop writing novels in every post.

It’s funny that you say you’re not interested in gotcha games because that’s all you do here lately.

Ltg, you seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding between the difference of “I’m a fan of this team” and “I think this team is good”. Please resolve that before embarrassing yourself and boring the rest of the board bumping old ass posts. Thanks in advance.

Yea this is the issue
Doesn’t everyone have some kind of rooting interest in every series if you’re a general NBA fan, just at the basic level of “I subjectively like this team more than that team” ?

Well my rooting interest is with OKC. If they lose fine. It isn't an individual series thing. He picks these teams to make a lot of noise and they get bounced and then he pretends that they he never cared for them.

That's fine but don't call others stupid or their thoughts stupid simply because they disagree.

You're the sensitive guy actually. You can't stand to be wrong about anything. Everything is a personal contest. It isn't for me. I can hold conversations without it being a contest.

I don't think that you can. If I were interested in doing it I could call you out on a number of stupid things that you have stated about basketball. A lot. I choise not to because it really isn't that serious for me.

It isn't even close anymore. Your only refrain is that they were bad when I said that were bad and good when I said they were good. What the hell is that exactly?

Either guys or teams are good or they aren't. It's one big state of revisionism just to be right all the time.

As I said I'm done with all of that. I will see how this turns out on the bet and then we can settle up.

I love when guys proceed to be objective about things.

I know you haven't been around so sort of forgive you for your ignorance. Actually I don't but I digress. I'm actually not but since guys like you went out of your way to always prove me wrong it sort of became that.

Do you want me to start bumping all of those old Wolves threads?

As I said I moved on. I stay out of threads involving the circle jerkers. Its important that they have their moments.
