Mike will eventually agree to whatever terms they are offering him and remain with the station. I just can't see any major station, i.e. station that can offer two-comma deals, grabbing him as a feature guy. He has a niche act and rather limited natural inquisitiveness to add more dimensions that would be required for success at stations like GN or LS.

That being said, from station's perspective, they should make him a full-time appearance guy who would host events at bars, stores, sports venues, etc. They should also offer him a contingency based interviewer role (with interviews distributed on the website) tied to the download numbers. Say, base pay of X-dollars for 5,000 download average, and 5% increases for ever 1,000 over the base number.
