D-Ep and I were talking about this last night. My top 5;

1) 2005 World Series Game 2, Podsednik walk off HR
2) 2016 Game 6 NLCS
3) Blackout Game 163
4) Mark Buehrle perfect game
5) Cubs sweep double header vs Pirates to win 2003 NL Central

Honorable Mentions to the Wood 20K game and Bo Jackson's 3 run moonshot to win '93 AL West

What say you?

Tough to argue with the top couple.

Mine would be

1) 2005 World Series Game 2
2) 2016 Game 6 NLCS
3) 2005 ALCS Game 2
4) Mark Buehrle perfect game
5) Blackout Game 163

Yeah I think even the most hard core Cubs/Sox meatballs would have to include those

Don't worry. CallerBob and/or 312player will probably be along shortly to make fools of themselves and argue against those two games.

Poor Reader...

I believe the title is asking for games played here.

Cubs 10-9 over Astros in 1989, after being down 9-0 in the 5th inning is definitely one of mine. I watched that game from beginning to end as a yout.

Personal anecdotal best game in Chicago. My 1st game. Luis Tiant was outdueled by Stan Bahnsen for a 2-1 White Sox win and my brother dropped a foul ball from the front row in the UD down to the lower deck. Hooked from then on with baseball and with pitching in particular.

The Sandberg game was good, but IMO it doesn't compare with some of the recent playoff games and ultra rare moments like a perfect game and 20K's. It was a hellava day for Ryno at the plate, but not top 5 all time.

Another great game, but not an all timer IMO. The lore of Konerko getting plunked in the head then homering twice adds a lot, but not an all time game.

Nice game. Iguchi it a grand slam a few batters later, and the Sox kicked the shit out of the lowly Cubs 8)

The day they put Schwarber's HR ball in plexiglas. I laughed so fucking hard because it totally encapsulated Cubbiedom.

One has to be the 83' division clincher. First Chicago post-season in 24 years if my math is correct.

Just gave myself goose bumps.

I didn't think I'd remember that until I watched the video. It's in my brain but barely. I remember my Dad freaking out more than anything.

Speaking of my Dad. He was at WS05 Game II and Buehrle's perfecto.

That was a great game that I still remember to this day. Ricky Guitierez scored the winning run on a crazy first to second/3rd to home double run down and the Cubs won in a comeback.

Edit: Found the clip of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55yDuBKdjE8
