This is a strange one. Clearly the police think the parents did it, but they don't have any evidence. Family have been evicted from their home. Kid was born with opiates in his system. What's this going to end up being?

There's a lot of ambiguity in all the stories I've read. When you read a story saying the parents stopped cooperating with police, the first impulse is to declare them guilty. But what would you do if you had a bunch of cops bullying and accusing you and you really didn't do it?

When cops get an idea they're often single-minded. I think Jim Ryan is still trying to convict Rolando Cruz.

You don't notice your kid missing till 9AM the next day? And it takes you 45 min to call police? None of this adds up.

It doesn't seem like it. Mother got a lawyer rather quickly.

The news report I heard last night said the parents are "separated", but neither has anywhere else to go so they are still both in the house. They were supposed to be evicted April 4th, but haven't left the house yet. Every detail about this family makes sad for the kids.

Apparently they lost custody of their other(?) kid in court today.

Wyze cams are a steal at $25. Every house should have at least one on their doorways. I originally got one for my basement just to try out after some mysterious clean water flooded the basement. Worked so well I got one for the front door due to all the package thefts.

I lived somewhat near these people when I lived in Crystal Lake for a few years. I bought a house for an investment. Amazingly, even out that far there are areas you'd rather not live in. Mostly apartment complex areas but it's pretty depressing how far bad behavior can spread.
