when it comes to ast passes you need them if you want to ride the high-profile rides without waiting for potentially hours. it isn't really a choice. If you want to ride Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom without a Fast Pass you literally could be waiting several hours once the mad dash at rope drop subsides. Right now, on a run-of-the-mill Tuesday afternoon, that attraction is 105 minute wait. Or that new Mine Train ride at Magic Kingdom or the Slinky Dog dash roller coaster at Hollywood. We rope dropped that and still had to wait 30 minutes and after that it jumped up to a 2 hour wait the rest of the day. we did one fast pass late morning, one early afternoon and one early evening and never felt rushed like we were on some kind of schedule.

Yeah this is a good point, try not book a fast pass that is in one hour of park opening. It's basically a waste of a pass. If you are getting there when it opens just go right to a premium ride, or as I said book a character breakfast in the park which basically gives you another fast pass as you beat the rope dash even.
You get an hour to do the first ride, so you get there when the park opens, jump on a ride, and then use your first fast pass in the last 15 minutes of your window, and then do the next one at the very start. 3 rides in an hour and 15 minutes and then you don't have another one for an hour or so.

The whole "go left" thing does work. Last time I was at Magic Kingdom, we 'went left' and got on Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Carribean, Splash Mountain, and Haunted Mansion all before noon.

If you are not on a dining plan, i'd skip the character breakfast. $55 per person for a buffet is ridiculous.

Magic Kindgom and Hollywood studios for that age. Adults enjoy Epcot more than the kids because of the food and drink aspect.

Fast passes for main attractions you know you want (it’s a small world, and 7 dwarfs mine train rides I would suggest since those have crazy long wait times - also the toy story ride at Hollywood studios)

Download the my Disney experience app while you are there - huge help.

If you have a girl - without a doubt book an appt at the bippity boppity boutique. Have her wear a princess dress there and they do her hair and light makeup like a princess. Also make a reservation at Cinderella’s Royal Table after she is dressed like a princess. When you eat at Cinderella’s castle all the princesses come to each table for pics and autographs.

Sneak in booze to the parks in water bottles or a thermos.

Enjoy my only normal post ever guys.

We stayed at riverside and would take a Lyft to the park in the morning and ride buses back. You request it when you leave your room and it arrives at the front desk when you walk there. 12 bucks is worth getting dropped off at the front and it takes 10 minutes.

when I was college aged I went to Universal with a buddy of mine after a typical crazy night out on Orange street. My buddy had to pull over on the way there and puke up blood on the side of the road, but he was good to go after that. I decided that I was going to volunteer for every single thing you could volunteer for. Ended up being the volunteer for every ride/show you could do that. That was a fun day.

not gonna read four pages so I may re-state already stated stuff.

Epcot-Dated. Wouldn't go there with young kids. Just....old. Boring.
Magic Kingdom-with young kids, you should plan to do two days here.
Animal Kingdom-Pretty cool, kids will enjoy

Fast Passes are the key. Getting to the park on time is huge. Schedule your fast passes early in each day as you get more fast passes when you use the first three. Do things in groups of 2 or 3 and you'll get more fast pass options.

Stay off site if you need to save money.

Do a character breakfast if you have daughters.

Schedule a day off.

Do the Memory Maker.

Not gonna lie... this thread gave me a bit of anxiety, but a lot of great tips. We already have the fast pass and all that, which I didn't know. That was a relief. Thanks for the suggestions.

I don't fish but I also don't go to Orlando to do my hobbies like posting here and well, I guess that is my only hobby.

Wrong. Do both. Nature ..and Disney can coexist in a kids brain and give paths to future interests. Let them figure out which is more enjoyable.

Yeah. Kids don't like Disney World. They would rather sit on a boat holding a pole hoping it moves when Mickey Mouse is a few miles away.

The Epcot hate in this thread is mind boggling. Soarin', Test Track (at night), Frozen Ever After, Living with the Land, drinking around the world.
you guys are nuts.

Agreed, they're insane.

World Showcase is tougher for a smaller kid, but Epcot is still a great park. Illuminations is second to none in terms of fireworks as well.
To say that the park is "dated" or "run down" is inaccurate and stupid.

I've gone to Disney World and Disney Land 5 times in 6 years with our nieces that were 3 and 6 respectively, 5 years ago. We just went in December and they are now 8 and 11. They loved Epcot. Character meet ups (Marry Poppins, Mexico Donald, Alice), visiting the countries, snacking, and the rides.

Agree with you and Doug. I would have loved to take them to Epcot on the second trip last year. No time unfortunately and it was cut. My only point earlier was I would not go there in the 4-5 year age again.

It's possible to do both. My daughter loves fishing, and shes not even big enough to fish yet. She just likes hanging out and holding the fish.

You can do both. My point is you are near the greatest theme parks in the world. Spend more time at that and then go fishing at home the weekend after you get back.

Is Orlando a world class fishing destination?

If anything take them to a water park instead.

Oh a blog post from 2011 from a site trying to sell Florida fishing books. I'm convinced.

I don't understand where you're coming from on this. The place we are staying has a water park onsite. But yes - one of the best parts of fishing is fishing in different locations, and Florida has monstrous bass in addition to species that are not found in Illinois. We are going for 7 days, and there's no way in hell I'm spending every single day at a theme park.
