By the end of the calendar year, I will be next-to-last in the household in regards to college degrees earned, and my daughter will be in her Junior year, likely to surpass my measly Bachelor's degree.

my nephew was one of eight boxers in the history of mt. carmel to have won his division four years in a row at their annual fight night this weekend.

It's a great night if you ever get a chance to go albeit a bit barbaric as a room packed with alums gets shitfaced while cheering on kids beating each other up with minimal defensive skills.

I was standing near the bar area and had a great MC moment. I was next to a group while a fight was going on. They were betting and one in the group was yelling out how he had "blanco" (white and brown corners, not race). His friend told him he said he took brown. The guy said "yeah, I took blanco" before being told that blanco means "white".

My son has the second best mile time in the state in his division- 4:55. He’s 10 secs behind the leader.
He hasn’t been pushed at all by the local competition. So, maybe he can step it up when it comes to state and do something special. He should go to state in the 1600, 800, 4x400 and the 4x100. I’m proud of him.
