Am I remembering wrong, or does a pool bring down the value of your property?

They say an above ground one, if not properly maintained can.

Also, I hope you don’t have any neighbors you e pissed off because they can dump a wide variety of contaminants in your pool.

I sincerely doubt Caller Bob has pissed off any of his neighbors. Oh, wait...are they all white Christians?

If only home surveillance equipment such as motion cameras were a reasonable, affordable option at this point.

If you've got fuck you money to move a power line and put in a pool, you can afford a couple of webcams for security.

doug will know.

I think we got an estimate for putting lines underground and it seemed like an unreasonable amount.

Who the fuck cares what the kids want vs. what makes the most sense for the kids. Skin cancer dude. It's a killer that starts when you are young. You are LITERALLY saving their precious little lives.

On second thought...

Thanks. So I can hire this out privately? ComEd still needs to come out and certify it, correct?

friends bought property with an inground pool. there were a ton of offers on the house so they had to negotiate and one of the things that got pulled was the pool inspection.

they discovered everything about it was bad and and its basically not fixable without a huge investment. they had it drained adn there were 2 deer carcasses rotting away at the bottom.

its probably going to cost you an arm and a leg to move it. our service is underground to the pole. the cost of to move it i was quoted 40 bucks a foot.

Sounds like you're all set for about 500 bucks, Bob. Good luck!

Move that decimal over one spot Gomer.

If you're lucky and there is enough slack in the electrical line, you can expose it and just move it out of the way.

If you need to move it, ComEd will do it, but it will be expensive.

You can trench it yourself, of hire someone. Have your electrician supply the cable and run it from the pedastal/pole to the house. They need to leave enough coiled at the pole for ComEd to do the final connection to the main.

This will save you the most.

How long is the run?

I assume you are right if if the line feeds his home someone has to shut it off before the cuts to move no?

I have overhead lines that cut about 40' into my lot from front to back. I'm planning on having them buried so they aren't hanging so far into my yard. I'll bury them front to back then run a new service back to the house. I'm just starting that process...hoping to keep it well under $5k. I have a mini excavator, so that saves me at least $1k.
